Gave me flashbacks to a Samantha Ravndahl where her husband bought her dollar store makeup, and I wanted to wash my hands just seeing it. Which I know is giving so much bougie bitch snob - trust, I’m totally down with drugstore, but like, there is a LIMIT, and Sam found it. Kackie flirted with it but deftly maneuvered out of harm’s way for the worst bits.

Well, I’m pretty sure Jordana cosmetics went out of business a few years ago and NYX hasn’t packaged their blushes like that for awhile, so I applaud your bravery😂

Okay honestly I can't speak to the ingredient quality of those palettes bc I've never heard of those brands but that eye look is straight up fire 🔥 loving the pop of blue you went for, almost looks like an extension of your painting in the bg

I got some thing similar once :( I got sucked into a RUclips ad about liquidation makeup in these mystery boxes that promised to have a certain amount of luxury brands… in each box. I think it cost about $60 when it came I was so disappointing!! it was a box full of AliExpress makeup that I looked up and probably was worth a total of $20 and frankly I would never feel comfortable putting on my skin:( I even contacted the company to see if I could get a refund or return the box and they said I would have to pay for the shipping to China and then once it got there they would decide if I got a refund…. :/ Biggest waste of money in my life. I still think about it to this day
I think the character on that eyeshadow palette looks like it's from the movie 9 with the little animated puppets in the apocalypse world. Fun movie

Could you possibly elaborate on your use of contour to combat “pink face”? From what i’m understanding the contour color helps add balance and I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what, but there’s something there that I want to know more about. I am sensing an “aha!” moment just around the corner………

I have a contour stick from Jordana and I alternate it with the Westman Atelier, that’s how much I love it.
I came here for a review, but I got an adventure. And a bit of a health risk maybe. 😅 Yes, more please. It’s really fun seeing you react to and work with makeup you’ve never seen. Kind of like The Splendid Table: when the host of the show calls someone and has to make up a dish with whatever the person has in their fridge.
This was such a fun video! And I have to say… I kind of love the lip color on you (with the gloss though), just maybe with a more-neutral-not-so-pink blush & eye look 😂

I’m not personally super into mystery box reviews, but a similar sort of “trying potentially chaotic things from online” genre that would be really fun from you is to try makeup products that are primarily advertised on IG! I know you did that once with that guided eyeliner product thing and that was cool and useful!

Max Factor is still in business. Not sure if that eye pencil is new. But I’ve even learned Pat mMcGrath did something with the company a few years ago. This was fun. Most of it I haven’t heard of. Wonder if they are from other countries. Definitely do this again.
I seem to recall Max Factor is alive in the Uk but there was a legal issue and it’s not in the Us now? Is that right? Wendy Rowe might have worked with them?

I was reluctant to try grande cosmetics, I love their lash and brow serum (same thing different applicators) and sometimes different amounts of product.
Idk if Cargo cosmetics is still in business, but their beach blush used to be sold at Ulta and was my first blush love. It was in a metal tin and was a blonzer before blonzers. ☺️

Ooooooooo! You could fr do a Chopped: makeup edition. Get someone to put random makeup from your collection in a basket and you have to make a full face with it. Also, there's a chance you could get the same product (like, just lipstick or just eyeshadow). 😂 Also, utensils may or may not be included.
That was legitimately very fun. There have been a few instagram make up brands I've been super curious about that don't have wide distribution if you'd be willing to try some kitschy stuff again.

But can we talk about how much of an awesome idea this is though? Curating cosmetic mystery boxes. And it's not just random crap stuff that a brand sends out that everyone might get, it's products that someone at one point bought for themselves. And if I'm understanding this properly, you give the seller specifics about the kind of products you use and each box is tailored to you. This is such a great way to get rid of makeup that would otherwise collect dust and go to waste while still contributing to the economy. It's a way to support each other or small business. And it's a fun experience.
They still sell Max Factor in the UK for sure :)

this kind of mystery box is not for me ( only because you asked , otherwise I wouldn’t put this comment down) while I don’t buy products showcased on YT rather do the HLP thing and dupe the vibes or a technique, I like to watch your usual content and store the info it in my mind palace for a future purchase.
This box was too scary! 😂 I wouldn’t buy or even try. Mainly because with drugstore or lesser known brands like this box, on melanated skin they are just Ashy or have no pigment to show up on my skintone.
Having said that I enjoyed this one esp for the info you gave us on Amazon bulk sellers to Etsy sellers pipeline.
In conclusion ( jeez this is turning into a thesis) Whatever video you upload I l appreciate the deeper level of info you give us - on a technique, or a pigment, on the commerce, the thought behind the concept of the product. Etc.

In defense of Shop Miss A, their AOA Studio products, like their brushes and their sponges, are quite nice for a dollar a piece, but I'd stay away from Amuse products.
Interesting video concept. Since i was not really interested in the products it self, I would prefer a "mystery box" from a friend or a other content creator with more products that would fall more in the product range you normally use. Like the video you did recently with Hannah Louise, but exploring the products by our own without instructions. Or one of these gift sets / "best of beauty xyz set" / sale sets were they throw a bunch of diferent products together and call it a set ;)

LOVED this video! You did such a great job. In terms of doing more, I low key feel like these are kinda wasteful? I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be critical. I think doing one to test out and share with everyone is SUPER HELPFUL. I just think that, given the possibility that you’ll get makeup that’s expired or that you won’t use again, it might just be wasting money and makeup? I don’t know, I could totally be wrong, and I obviously know that the waste we generate as consumers means nothing in comparison to corporations. Just something I thought.

I used to buy kleancolor and amuse at those cheapo beauty stores. They suck!! The eyeshadow was chalky and no pigment and the blushes were super bright and stained my cheeks. I ended up throwing them away.
I was like "but I really like your lip colour!" and then I realised my phone's blue light filter was on full blast, which made it look quite rich and autumnal. 😆

Suppose you could use the brushes for a kids painting arts and crafts project. After years of using whatever brushes, I splurged and bought the BK brushes. Worth every $$
Sadly, I think you got duped. What was in that box wasn’t even close to the worth of what you paid. Thats mostly stuff you can get in the wholesales district for $1-$5. I actually saw those sponges in the checkout line at TJMaxx today for like $4. 😢
Midway thru I said to my TV: “better you than me, Kackie.” 😅 That lip color was really pretty on you, tho, just not with that eye.
I can identify with liking more neutral lip colors because I also have bigger lips and when I wear a bold lip my face is just…lips 👄

Ok you have to already know I'm living for the blue inner corner. I actually adore the lip too, especially with the gloss on top! The mascara is super pretty too.
That being said, if I spent $68 USD on this, I'd be a lil deflated. However, I also have a huge makeup stash and have tried hundreds of different products over the years and very much know what I like. Like you said, this might be a nice thing for a beginner- and I actually think it'd be a fun giftable thing to do with your friends, like, bring them this box of random makeup and open it together.
The lip color was great on You, but maybe it will be better with bare eyes, just mascara, brows, liner... something like with red lipstick.

The grandefanatic mascara is 25 euro, not cheap!
