Just remember that whatever lube you used on the water pump oil seal lips will eventually wind up in your coolant.

Hi, will 2007-2008 mechanical seal fit 2004-2005? It should assuming they share same oil seal(part no.)?

07-08 R1 shares the same oil seal as 04-05, but Yamaha listed the 07-08 R1 mechanical seal as a different part number. I’m not sure if it’s the same part.
