Edit: another thing I just clocked is that if she’s under the illusion of the smile entity and we see her drinking Voss water from *her* perspective. Like what do the other characters see? Like they could see her drinking wine or alcohol. Again remember when her mother told her she was dehydrated, and remember the scene where she got confronted about if she was on drugs by her mom- like if that scene panned out and she just took the test anyway and her mom found out the times she was under the illusion of the smile entity and thinking she was drinking water she was actually using drugs or alcohol. Like babe, not a good look.
I think it's really interesting (and sad) that in both movies, the protagonists' past trauma is the thing that ultimately puts them in the path of the Smile Entity. In the first one Rose was leaving work for the day but she rushed back to take the call to check on that patient because she's so traumatized and guilt-ridden about not helping her mother. And in this one, Skye never would have been at Lewis' apartment if she didn't need painkillers for the accident scars. I feel like it goes to show that even if you are healing and trying to do better each day, trauma can rear its head at any time and just completely snowball.
You know it's interesting because I had a thought that all these victims have something in common. Skye unalived Paul, rose unalived her mom, Joel unalived the two dealers trying to pass it on, lewis was selling substances so it probably unalived somebody, Robert unalived somebody to pass on the curse so it will probably come back for him in part 3 and Laura is in college so she probably drank and got behind the wheel and unalived somebody which could be explained in part 3. The trauma maybe the demon showing the victim "this is why you're gonna be unalived" is the entity some kind of karma???
Here's a fun fact: her dancers that were chasing her in the apartment are actual dancers from singers like Beyonce and Doja Cat. Parker Finn has confirmed this in many interviews

I love when a sequel improves upon the concept of the original. Smile 2 was so damn good! I'd seem Naomi Scott in that Power Rangers movie, and I remember liking it, but don't remember it at all. She was phenomenal in this! I hope she does more horror, she's prefect for the genre. I hope they do a third one. It'd be so interesting to see the repercussions of attending the Skye Riley concert. This was my second favorite horror movie this year, after The Substance.
