Exactly, I tend always to try and fill up at the half tank mark. But, don't tell my wife that, because she always knows, I will pay and fill it up.....lol! But, the good thing is we are both retired old timers and do not drive much at all, and traded my gas guzzler pickup truck for a more fuel efficient SUV, a few years ago. Many blessings to all involved in this mess, and hope it passes quickly.
Most of these people waste so much of their income on a car payment they cant put more than $10 in the tank at any given time. When a storm hits, they have no choice but to wait in these lines.
I pay 1200 a month for 2 auto loan payments. I can afford gas. I can also afford the high insurance that comes from others not having it & weather events.

They would have loved the gas rations in the 70's.No one got road rage because they understood kindness, fairness goes a long way. Those cars burned more gas too!Mostly V-8 engines. Now we have economy and electric vehicles.

I think that the Florida DOT should play a role to help the motorists get their gasoline and diesel in an efficient way and that is have the motorists with odd numbered license plates get their fuels on days ending in odd numbers and those with even numbers get their fuels on even numbered days; this should help to stop the road rage between drivers. Something like this was done during the two oil embargoes in the seventies; does anyone remember that?
Sarasota has enough bicycle infrastructure to make living without a car doable. But less the one percent of the people use a bicycle for transportation. That's no surprise since most of us are taught to be car dependent by our parents. I've been using human powered vehicles for transportation in this city since I moved here in 2012. So it can be done and the benefits are more significant than the average car dependent person would imagine.

We get snow and cold in Michigan….but none of this. The snow and cold keep people AWAY from here and I love it!
In New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy we had alternate days to get fuel based on odd/even number on your license plate. Cut fuel lines dramatically
In Florida we have ron Deguido telling us there are no fuel shortages
