Love the sermon Josh and I'd never made the Adam/Jesus thorn connection before. Super powerful stuff! Keep it up! However, for me, it seems presumptuous to assume what an all-powerful and all-knowing God could or could not call "good". Our human idea of "good" is very often out of line of God's. Also, I'd love to know your thoughts about dust being a symbol of God creating man mortal, with Ecclesiastes 3:20 stating "all come from dust, and all return to dust." clearly referring to mortality. Since you and I both were not physically made from dust, could Genesis also just be communicating that God created Adam(man) mortal? God never intended for us to be separated from him and die a spiritual death, so it seems seems fair to create man mortal(able to die a physical death) as long as we had access to His presence/tree of life. Would love to see a video or two about this and other interpretations of first chapters of Genesis. Love you buddy! Also congrats on the kiddos!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Most importantly, physical death is the punishment for Adam’s sin. He would die because he sinned. If physical death is not the punishment for sin, then how can Jesus’ physical death pay for our sin? As for God calling something “good,” my statements were derived from how the rest of scripture treats death. It is called an enemy, something to be defeated. It is absent in the redemption of earth, as is disease, pain, and suffering. So, if God created via evolution, all of those would’ve been considered “good.” This just isn’t what scripture teaches. As for dust and mortality, I would agree it no doubt refers to our mortality, but that does not also mean Adam wasn’t physically created from the dust. Where would such a phrase be derived? Perhaps from the creation itself? Additionally, if you look at the rest of the verse you cite, the beginning discusses the physical death of animals and humans. So, a physical death is the context. Additionally, passages such as Ecclesiastes 12 (especially verse 7), Psalm 104:29, Psalm 30:9, and many others show it is physical death. These are allusions to the creation account. Just as man was formed from the earth, so his body will return to the earth. God’s spirit mixed with Adam’s dust and was made alive. When that breath is withheld, our body becomes earth once again. 1 Corinthians 15:47 (as well as the rest of the chapter) likewise speak to the interpretation that Adam was indeed formed from the earth, thus so are we.
I was born again after reading the Bible for myself and asking the Holy Spirit to teach me what He means. I committed my life to God and accepted the gift of the Messiah and He did teach me. First book the Holy Spirit brought me to was Ecclesiastes, then Genesis. It is the cornerstone of my faith. I wanted to KNOW what made most people stumble, especially after being blessed with the opportunity to homeschool my children. I asked God what was important to Him and for me to make sure they knew before they leave me. I thank God now for you, for coming across these videos you make, it confirms His word to me and to my children, that Gods word is true and important, ALL of it, ALL the time. You will be blessed richly brother. I’m cheering for your diligence and obedience and faithfulness. Your heart is obviously so full of love for our God and Father and our Lord and Master. I praise His Holy Name, He never sleeps nor slumbers and always works all things for the good of those who know Him and are called according to His purpose. Hallelujah!
Your words are an immense encouragement to me! Thank you! I pray God blesses you in your desire to teach and lead your children according to God’s word and that he protects them from the deceptive teachings of our day. Stay diligent in your love and teaching for them and in your own study! God bless you!
Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels. They made man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap for angels. Genesis 2:7 the Lord God forms His representative in their system. Only one Gospel: The Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels (ELOHIM) unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of God.
That is very unbiblical. I would greatly encourage you to humbly look at scripture for it contradicts your views in every way. Genesis 9:5-6 says that is was humans that were made in God’s image, not angels. Multiple places state that God, not the angels, created all things, including man. Paul is clear that all things were created by God and through God and so does John chapter 1. Moses acknowledges this reading of Genesis 1 in Exodus 20:11. Hebrews 2:16 specifically says that Jesus came not to help angels but mankind. Jesus also took on flesh and blood, that is humanity. No where does it say that Satan has ever created anything on this earth. He cannot bring things into existence. Unbelievers are those who reject God and his gospel through Jesus Christ, not fallen angels. A stark distinction is made in scripture between angels and humans.

You took literally every single one of your references out of context. Regardless, other scripture specifically contradicts what you’re saying, therefore the interpretation you suggest cannot be true. Do you see how many hoops you had to jump through to get to your conclusion? Did you even look at the passages I referenced?
Scripture also says to make the most out of every opportunity as well to have a defense for the hope that is within you. You have done neither. No support for your interpretation nor have you made the most of this. Do you think Paul or the other Biblical writers dropped some comments on people’s doorsteps and left? No they actually spoke in synagogues day after day and spoke in the marketplaces as well as in the Areopagus. Be humble qwerty, read your scripture for yourself, and I pray you do not believe such obvious heresies. You’ve been blinded.
