  • The Trail has hit 600 miles so it was time for the break in oil change and I did the chain maintenance while I was at it.
Hoping this video will help someone who is over thinking this task see that it is not hard at all, and give them the confidence to do it on their own too.
Thank you for watching little buddies, I really appreciate all of you.
Please leave a comment down below with a future video rec, and if I did something terribly wrong, please let me know so others can learn from my mistakes.

You needed to point out that you do NOT screw the dipstick in to get a true reading. If you screw it in to get the reading you will be running your oil at a low level.

I went ahead and changed my break in oil at about 150 miles, just in case. When I put the plug back I didn't use a new gasket. I had a little bit of oil drip when I checked it after a ride, so I had to go find a few new gasket/washers. Installed a new one and no more leaks. So when you change your oil be diligent and keep check on your plug and oil level, just in case you happen to have a little leak. 🙂 Honestly I thought it would be fine. Does everyone change their washer with the oil change? I will now.

You should always replace the crush washer. A torque wrench is also a good idea also. Each his own.

I do believe there's an oil screen inside you have to take a cover off to clean the screen I saw another video of them cleaning the screen.
