when it comes to tutorials this is the definition of extraordinary; I have literally never used photoshop before this day and I am sitting here with the exact end product that Marty has designed!
I just want to thank you so much for this tutorial, I have used it and referred back to it almost daily to the point where I know it start to finish and have been able to apply it to even more projects! Thanks again, Marty. This is awesome!
Got some mistakes the first time but doing it again, I got the design down. Thanks bro, your videos are amazing! Also I was able to replicate this effect on different objects, not just text, so long as the object in question was colored solid white!
What a coincidence, im following this tutorial to make a logo Matrix style, and i just have notice that the frase you are using is from The Matrix. Thank you so much for this video, it helped me out a lot :)
amazing tutorial man!!! I love your tutorials, they are so straight to the point, very well instructed, and prob some of the best stuff! Thanks for sharing
Absolutely FANTASTIC tutorial. A little fast for a newbie such as me, but fantastic to watch nevertheless. Now, I need to see if this is all possible in the GIMP.
+Kay Wrobel The GIMP doesn't have some of the features PhotoShop does, like deselecting individual channels on an individual layer. But I got around that problem by creating layers from visible and deselecting the global channels as in this video, then setting the blend method to additive on the red and green layers. Also, the blur radiuses that are used in this video don't produce the same effect on the text and glow. I had to increase the radiuses a little bit to make my image look like in this video. Now I am stuck at the part where the scan lines are created. I don't see a way to generate those half tone lines in the GIMP, so I gotta do some more research on that. Overall, though, I can kinda follow this video (the ideas behind it).
Here's a tip that may be useful for some: If your "Filter Gallery" is greyed out, go to Image > Mode and set the mode to 8-bit RGB. The Filter Gallery doesn't work with 16 or 32 bit RGB.
How do you edit the text to move like that in the video like from 12:33-12:38? The end goal for my text is to add it to intros to my videos to have that glitchy effect.
Ideas for tutorials come from all places. When I basically see something that grabs my attention, it may inspire me to explore it in Photoshop. It could be a crack in the sidewalk, a foggy day, rippling water, a reflection or shadow, an interesting design, etc... Sometimes, subscribers may suggest ideas that intrigue me, however, they usually concern visual art forms or genres.
arrow keys don't let me move the layers when adjusting 'red' and 'rgb' layers (4 pixels), I noticed that the new CC suite kinda drags especially with Photoshop and Illustrator...but I'm still going to finish tutorial, reckon ill have to pull some digital jiu jitsu
It looks like same as my favorite youtuber SMG4 using this and sparkles and ChaBoyyHD the have the same thing i think the saw this video and made the same text and glitch and glow 9:47 Ye it looks like the same thing that the 3 youtubers using on the videos
+Riyaan Mohd First save the layer for web with a png or jpeg file. then go back to your photoshop layers. Select the scan lines layer and move them to the sides a bit so they are in a different position. Save it for web again and do that about 10 times. In a video editing software put the pictures into the video in the order you want them for the time you want each one to show. Add sound effects in the background and you got yourself a moving image.
so in the beginning you said to make a smart object so you can change font and text easily. Yet never showed how to change the font or text, anyone have any suggestions?
Double-click on the thumbnail of any Smart Object in the Layers panel to open its source. When the next document opens, if there's another Smart Object, double-click it. Continue this until the original text document opens. Replace the text and then close the tabs of each source until the final image opens with the new text.
After I Copy Green Layer and move it to the top, then add in the blur effect. I don't seem to get the glow from behind. Even after I do it twice, first at 10pixels and then 30pixels as instructed. Am I missing something? I am using Photoshop CS6. Please help.
It's Okay, I re did it from the start and realised I didn't move the RED Layer and the RGB layer enough to either side to allow the GLOW layer to be visible, thank you.
great tutorial thanks! i just ran into a problem : the scanlines somehow affect the way the colors appear when i try to save to a jpg or pdf. did anyone run into this? i'm running cs6
Tutorials like this make me realize I'm using about 1% of Photoshop's capabilities most days
You're the hero that the internet needs, but not the one we deserve.

Hi Marty! How did you make the cool, glitchy animation from 0:09 to 0:20?
I edit individual jpgs inside my screen-recording software, Camtasia.
Thank you for this tutorial! Felt my Photoshop skills sucks:)))

+Kay Wrobel Just another follow-up: I was able to completely reproduce the image as shown in this video using The GIMP 2.28 on my Mac. It's beautiful.

If your "Filter Gallery" is greyed out, go to Image > Mode and set the mode to 8-bit RGB.
The Filter Gallery doesn't work with 16 or 32 bit RGB.
Fantastic work! Thank you very much for the tutorial.
4:40 This remind me of the classic 3D effect, with Red and Blue color!12:12 What the point to crop there?Helpful tutorial!Follow the White Rabbit!

Muchas gracias por tremendo tutorial! Saludos desde Chile!
How do you edit the text to move like that in the video like from 12:33-12:38? The end goal for my text is to add it to intros to my videos to have that glitchy effect.
I edited images in my screen recording software.
Thank you very much, it's awesome video tutorial. 👏 😀
Marty I have only one question: how do you come up with such complex and incredible ideas. Bravo Sir

I have PS CS3 and I don't have Subtract(7:51)
Your tutorial was brilliant! Thanks a lot.
THIS WAS SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL, THANKYOUUUUU
Very Good tutorial! I watch all your videos, they help me a lot. Thank you!
You don't happen to have a tutorial on the after effects version of this that you show in this video, do you?
There's no AE version. I did the animation effects all within my screen recording software - Camtasia.
@@BLTV_Photoshop Oh, ok. So you just used effects directly in camtasia for the glitching and such. Good to know!
Why does the halftone pattern filter not work? Did every step as shown in the video yet for some reason I can't do this one.
my name is raja in my free time always watching your new tutorials in my free time i am a student i am from india delhi and u bro
When I try to do the last green glow (8:52) and I press ALT + Delete, it always fills in white
Go to 8:54.
I did all of the steps correctly, but it still goes white
Thank you sooo much!

Great tutorial! can you tell me how you made the animation as well? I'd like to make a gif with this effect. Thanks!
Hey could you do something like this with a watch/clock?
I'm working with CS6 but it will not let me save the layer. I hit CTRL + CLICK it selects but when i go to SELECT, SAVE SELECTION is unable to click..
excellent tutorial, well done!
This really helped out a lot! Very much appreciated! I subbed to your channel (:
Awesome, thank you!
Blue Lightning TV Photoshop No problem!! If I want it to be blue instead of green, do I just do a blue layer instead of green?
For those who wonder about the scan-line thingy, if it doesnt work for you then you can use a gray background instead of white. works like magic!
Looks amazing, thank you
Hey Marty I have a question. PLease Help me with it. Can We so the same effects with peoples render ? If we have to do do i need to do anything else ?
Love it! Great way to tech every step!

I love this effect 👍🏻
Hi good video and thanks. Keep up the good work. I have subscribed. But can you do a video about how you animated it? Thanks,
Essentially, I made individual still images in Photoshop which I edited together in my screen recording software, Camtasia.
Thanks @@BLTV_Photoshop
I dont have the same thing when I press cmd + shift + E on the Mac, it merges the layers instead of making a composite snapshot on the image
Option + Cmd + Shift + E
how can I edit text? I can't even if i merge all the layers, what can i do?
I don't know where'd I would be with out you Marty!
It looks like same as my favorite youtuber SMG4 using this and sparkles and ChaBoyyHD the have the same thing i think the saw this video and made the same text and glitch and glow 9:47 Ye it looks like the same thing that the 3 youtubers using on the videos
Awesome Tutorial, Very helpful, But can you tell how to animate that, like you have done in your tutorials end?

At 6:20 I don't see the lines I did everything exactly same.
Same
After I Copy Green Layer and move it to the top, then add in the blur effect. I don't seem to get the glow from behind. Even after I do it twice, first at 10pixels and then 30pixels as instructed. Am I missing something? I am using Photoshop CS6. Please help.

No problem. 99.9% of the time, it's human error.
I needed this thanks! You have inspired my next t-shirt design :)
Great tutorial, thanks
Thank you, this was helpful in many ways
Isnt there a cromatic aberation function in PHotoshop? this seems overly complex.
I'm trying to find out how to make a transparent background, because I'd like to put my text onto another picture. How may that be done?
ruclips.net/video/ORGc6Sdc8pQ/видео.html
link image for scan lines?
What if I don't want a black background? Is that possible?
Yes. At 9:54 in the video, before you make a composite snapshot, hide the black background and keep it hidden for the rest of the tutorial.
you explain so well thank you!
I'd very much like a tutorial on the video effect for this glitch so it could be transformed into an intro video?
great tutorial thanks! i just ran into a problem : the scanlines somehow affect the way the colors appear when i try to save to a jpg or pdf. did anyone run into this? i'm running cs6
This is epic, you got a new subscriber!
Can anyone tell me why my object starts to turn pink?
Can i put this font to an photo
