    I'm using my new custom guitar from Solipsist guitars in the video. It is one of the best guitars I've ever played on. Just incredible. I'll make a video to properly show it off pretty soon. Be sure to check out Solipsist guitars! Robert from Solipsist is an absolute wizard and I'm sure will be doing some amazing things. Definitely someone to keep an eye on. You can find a link in the video description.

    is it difficult to do a first fret barchord in this guitar? mine has a 7th neutral fret and it's quite natural on that at least but this one seems like it won't be

    • @DanMummSolo
      @DanMummSolo  2 года назад

      I just tried it out and it is a little awkward but I could I see getting used to it after awhile. I don't think you could comfortably get a perfectly fretted barre chord with a quick transition though. If the action was too high, the upper notes probably wouldn't sound out because the first finger would be way too far back from the fret.

    Is it me or are the freets at an angle ??

      theyre called fanned frets :)

      @mikeball1397 2 года назад

      @@novander huh thanks! does it help or does it take time to adjust?

    • @DanMummSolo
      @DanMummSolo  2 года назад

      @@mikeball1397 Yeah that's right, it's actually multi-scale. That way each string can be intonated much more closely to being perfect since optimal scale lengths for a string are dependent on the pitch. Think of how the neck on a bass guitar is so much longer than on a guitar. In some ways the fanned frets are more natural feeling for the fingering than standard frets and from the player's perspective they look pretty straight. It does take time to adjust however. Especially when jumping around positions or having a wide spread between the hands when doing finger tapping on the higher strings because the fret markers above the neck don't line up with the frets on those strings from the player's perspective. I'm sure I'll get another custom fanned fret guitar one day and, if I do, I'll be sure to have it include inlaid fret markers haha.
