I lost my dad to suicide at 21. I ended up addicted to alcohol same as him. Then when I was 27 I met my now husband and when I became pregnant with my first child that was it for me, been sober for 3 years :) and I’m now pregnant with our second child. Having a child has been the best thing for me! They are my motivation to life, and I don’t even miss alcohol at all! The thought of drinking and being out of control/not my authentic self is the opposite of appealing!
Don’t agree at all about these sober up homes, this government have really lost the plot. With all the homeless & those struggling should be the ones getting help, so they have many vacant beds in sober up beds & the centre they built for those coming back to Victoria during covid is also vacant but this pathetic labour government still have the audacity to let people sleep in the freezing cold on the streets or having to live in a tent instead of being in a warm bed inside. 🤬
That NFL star's/player's speech was given at a Catholic/Christian university in any case - so naturally, you would expect the content of his speech/address to express conservative & family values in line with the teachings of the church. Otherwise the church probably would not have invited him to give a speech at that university.
It is true drunk and drug culture is a problem in England. I live in Romania now with my husband and the culture here is so much different. People are family oriented, community oriented, and people here are much healthier. I see 70 year old ladies riding bikes. This is how it should be. Like it used to be back in the day in England. But now drinking is all people look forward too in England. Instead of people working to make the country better for the future of the people, they want to party it up, ignore issues. It’ll be better if people put the drinks down and focus on bringing community back together. Find something more useful to do than drink.
What about tobacco policy? Of course all these experts know that nobody wants to go and sober up anywhere if they can't have a smoke when they need one. At least it might help keep a few more low-brow social work grads on good salaries and out of the centrelink office.
Perhaps more money for beds for the homeless not in the sober up beds.
Put labor governments in detention centres, not drunks.
Probably the same thing don’t you think ?
The government makes me drink in excess...

Congrats on all levels. 👍
So happy for you. It's mystifying but there's actually a difference between an alcoholic and a problem drinker. Too much to get into here.
Meanwhile, cities in the USA have started handing out shots of hard liquor to the homeless
The grift is real...
Weird idea that clearly doesn't work
If the homeless were SMART !!
I'm drunk, are her eyes to far apart?,theys like on the side of her head
Get out of people's lives mind your own business
Man makes speech, women offended.
I’m drunk at the moment.
I'm about to start drinking
Quit drinking and don't drug up and you will live a fulfilling life

Does Hughesy realise this channel is a right wing echo chamber?
Thanks for tuning in, FH
And your opinion counts for WHAT exactly...
You should be asking yourself that...
From your point of view that's understandable.
I'm sure the blonde got on television because of her ahem "talent"
I'm sorry, but I didn't hear a word the blonde said.
