Good pro. Beat 'Bam Bam' Hines for the light middle title and then beat Lindell Holmes for the super middleweight. He was scheduled to fight Nigel Benn in the UK but he retired to become a State Trooper.

Well that's what it's all about, you have to do it at a young age.. I mean you certainty have no chance doing it at an old age.. Maybe he was pushed a little too much too fast, but hey, they were hungry for a white fighter in those days..

They should've kept him away from Iran Barkley for sure.. He actually could've beat Barkley if he fought a smarter fight.. Barkely was just nearly punched out and exhausted when he stopped Van Horn, but Van Horn insisted on keep slugging it out with Barkely, big mistake that was, and it put School boy out of the picture for good..
