Just got this and functional trainer is exactly what it is. Its a great way to get in an acceptable workout quickly and in a small space. So many key exercises in an easy format. I really like the pull up bar right above me and enjoy the ability to press while standing. This isnt an end all be all but it will def make it easier to get in more workouts.
Love the review .I really like this machine. I am just concerned if I will ever outgrow the weights. Can you let me know your thoughts? i am looking at the FTX.
This unit is on sale right now at my local fitness depot, and I've been looking for a good demo/function video on it. This was very helpful. Thank you.
Can’t wait to have it installed ...btw, it’s similar to PRECORE FTS at almost half the price - both have the guide-rods you can hang-on to ...unlike the silly spinners on the Hoist mi6 (totally over-engineered nonsense) - the pulleys freely rotate already giving you all the freedom of movement.
very helpful video - thank you...would you consider listing here in the notes above the names of each exercise, along with a brief description? This would allow users of this equipment to print this out and use it in a workout
first, thanks for the video second, how tall are you Dr. Paul? What I need to know is, I'm 6.2 will I be able to do the triceps pull down with the rope extension? or am I too tall for that?
I'm not quite as tall as you but find that there are exercises that I have difficulty performing on the functional trainer I own (XMARK) due to the height 83" to fit in my 88" basement gym ceiling. The good news is that it's quite easy to find ways to do all of the exercises, be it using a bent position, using a different D-handle, kneeling or standing further away from the machine. The better news is that there are multiple exercises for each muscle group, and you will find it's quite easy to get a great workout for any muscle you want to hit. The best news is that doing many of these exercises from a standing position, like chest, back, shoulder movements will greatly strengthen not just the muscles you are targeting but all the other muscles and stabilizers in the chain even moderately involved in that movement. I'm getting FT1 - it's most bang/$, but M3 has more on paper, for a total 'newbie', but it also cost way more and has less weight. Finally it's FTX not FXT ..just a cheaper (lighter) ver. FT1.
Just got the FT1. Put it together in about 3 hours. The first thing I noticed is how cheap all the attachments feel, this is what you come in contact with and to me is very important. There really cheap fealling ecpecialy there bars there cheap CHINA made with that fake chrome finish that flakes off in your hand. The welds on the bench are absolutly terriable. I would say inspire is like pro-form or marcy in quality cheaply made China crap
What sort of Dr? No disrespect intended - but referring to oneself as a 'Dr' - you should always state your field of PhD if you are not a MEDICAL DOCTOR. HA -- for example - a Dr. of Theology is a 'useless as tits on a bull' when called upon to save someone's life. HA - I know a PhD that no longer refers to himself as Dr. XXXXXX after he was called on by cabin crew to save the life of a passenger in flight - most embarrassing.
I love the way you explain each exercise, thank you so much!!!

Great video, very informative. Its hard to find good instructional video of the Inspire F1 functional trainer.
Thank you Dr Paul.
Very useful, thank you! Greetings from Japan!
Fantastic machine I love it!
Nice video, thanks.

Even if you do, you can buy longer pins on Amazon and put free weights on the end.

You could always do them kneeling.

Which machine has more exercises/versatility..the Inspire M3 or the FXT or FT1? Thanks!

@@vcader It depend of your age, and what is your target. The FTX could be perfect for many, it's also cheaper.
@@vcader someone said the quality is bad ... cheap attachments and bad welds
???
Good, clean information!
One to three set? Isn’t this to low? Thanks
Actually some people say that more than 3 sets is overtraining. One set definitely isn’t enough, though, that’s for sure.
Idk price wise u might be better off just getting a bench and a complete barbell set. And even size wise that would be comparable to this + bench.
And that will allow you to do the "real" lifts too.. Squats, lunge, rdl, deadlift, clean etc.
Why not both?
Perfect
Machine doesn't have enough weight for me. Yeah, I'm old, but I'm strong. Still, I have found ways to use this device.
Dr. Kennedy has the build of a wrestler.
The leg curl looks awkward, Inspire should engineer a padded support that attaches to the rail and rests just above your knee.

Make American Weights Again!
much appreciated review. For the amount of money they want for these, I would expect better quality.
Is there an alternative with same function?
this man is like 5ft
Always surprised when these dead channels pop up.
2019
cross cable is nice but the bench scared me seems it come from hell
I've been thinking of getting this machine and instead of the overpriced Inspire bench maybe an X-mark chXM-9010 bench.
@@riptide10x60 are there any better brands than this ?? I saw pics and someone commented quality is cheap
