    Great video. My first yacht was a Hurley 22 - a wonderful boat. I moored her at Rye and would sail to Eastbourne and Brighton.

    My First Channel crossing to Cherbourg was also in a Hurley 22 ... about 50 years ago ! Now I have an old Beneteau First 24 and potter around the Baltic.

    Nice trip. Thanks for sharing. How long was your trip in total and what time did you have?

    • @hurlieup
      @hurlieup  Год назад

      Thank you! Total trip took 16 days, we had 3 weeks time, but always take some margin.

    Why do you not have stanchions?
    Top sailing, love your jenniker

    • @hurlieup
      @hurlieup  Год назад +1

      We found them very cramped on the sidedeck, and they were too low to keep you on board anyway. It's much easier to walk back and forth now.

    • @melrobinson2111
      @melrobinson2111 Год назад +1

      Yes agree side decks are tight between stanchions and stays.
      I loved this episode, grew up sailing the Oosterschelde , Gravelinge Veersemeer and down to Oostende.

    Super, video die alle plaatsen waar ik heen wil mooi samenvat. Hoe ging dat zonder AIS en aan slechts een handvol knopen doorheen het verkeersscheidingsstelsel? Hoe lang deden jullie erover van Oostende naar de Roompot? David - Zeebrugge

    • @hurlieup
      @hurlieup  Год назад

      Dankjewel! Voor de scheidingstelsels moet je even goed timen en alle schepen blijven peilen. Ze zijn redelijk overzichtelijk omdat al het verkeer dezelfde kant op gaat. Toch hebben we een jaar geleden AIS geïnstalleerd aan boord. Dat maakt het wat makkelijker en overzichtelijker, maar daarvoor jaren zonder gevaren en dat gaat ook.

      Oostende -Roompot duurde iets meer dan 8 uur

    Hello, how was the procedure for entering UK? Did the UK immigration officers come to the boat and check passport or was there an office for passport control?

    • @hurlieup
      @hurlieup  Год назад +1

      Entering was rather easy. We called the yachtline 9NM offshore, but we were told to call again upon arrival, as we had no stable connection. Called again in Eastbourne, answered some questions on the phone, and submitted the C1331 form via email. Received clearance via email within half an hour. No officers visited on board.
