Nice video. Pretty lady, sweet accent. You should've talk about Bourda Market and Stabroke Market and all the nice fruits and suh. Don't forget the black water creek. I miss Splashmin creek. Wah! Guyana nice!
I fully understand and agree with you. My dad is from Linden and my mom is from Kitty. The accent is noticeably different. I understand both because I grew up around both accent. Thank you for posting this video because it helps me clarify to my friends and associates. And I must say, you are a very attractive Guyanese representative.
Jess Dojoy, you are very beautiful indeed. From listening to you,, I reckon that you are as pleasant and personable as you are pretty. I sense that you are a fine and well-spoken young woman. I am happy to have discovered a Guyanese who is not afraid to represent and explain the different speech patterns of Guyanese - city vs country. Toomany Guyanese pride themselves in giving the false impression that Guyanese don't or cannot speak (British) Standard English. I guess they have found a new infantile toy with which to play - rather to abuse. Yes, Amerindians, Portuguese, Africans, East Indians, Chinese, Europeans, Guyanese of mixed lineages must go the extra mile in unity for the betterment of Guyana. The young and the brightest, irrespective of ethnicity - who are honest, and not corrupt - must be trained to govern. Excellent video; come again!
If you didnt put guyanese tag i would have still known you were Guyanese. The accent strong strong.❤ All of my family is from Guyana, both mother and father side. #bigupGT
girl I'm from Guyana and from the country and speak like Abe and so on ppl often ask me which country I'm from because they can't place my accent so I guess not all country ppl speak so either .
I grew up in the country and i talk the same thing Georgetown ppl talk n everybody else. I know some ppl talk creole but idk what ppl mean when they say (talk Guyanese) cause in the end we all understand the same thing weather from the country side btw i LOVE ur tag
that's true they drop H in some country villages. I mostly notice it on the East Coast Demerara. also Hope Town on the West Coast of Berbice and Stewart Ville on West Coast Demerara.
very good Guyanese tag. just one thing. is Guyana in South America and the Caribbean at the same time? Well is not actually in Caribbean Sea but culturally is it West Indies.
Well our neighbor Surinam is also quite as diverse like Guyana is. Also you may want to check this out. Brazil which is in South America has the highest African descent population outside of Africa.
Although I'm From The Country Side I Do Agree With You....I Left Guyana A Long Time Ago And I Was Really Small And I Just Started To Learn About Where I'm From....But the School I Attended Which Is In The United States Has A Lot Of Guyanese Kids And Almost All Of Them Are Failing English....And My Friends Who Are Guyanese And Are Failing English Ask Me How Come I Didn't Fail.... And All I Say Is Too Much Abe And Au 😀
You're welcome and lol I know but I was really bored so I searched Guyanese accent tag and like I mentioned before I just started learning about Guyana 😁

you represented us well, especially town people.. bunch of thanks.
lmaooooo guyana full of holidays fuh truth lol
'Ppl in the town speak a little better' how so? We didn't do it to our selves its just part of our culture
Lol. I think the people from the country don't say the "H" in their words. They would say Ome instead of Home.
that's true they drop H in some country villages. I mostly notice it on the East Coast Demerara. also Hope Town on the West Coast of Berbice and Stewart Ville on West Coast Demerara.

Guyana is not in the Caribbean. As the only 'black' country in S.Am the cultures are in a way Caribbean or W. Indian as you say.
Only “BLACK country in South America“? What are you saying? A country is a color; since when? Please, no Americanism! It's about Guyana - not America!
Well our neighbor Surinam is also quite as diverse like Guyana is. Also you may want to check this out. Brazil which is in South America has the highest African descent population outside of Africa.
Nobody doan go an lash me out.. This is something only a Guyanese would say.
hi love
Hey Guyana is in South America not the Caribbean.
