    Lovely vlog. Thank you. I know a lot of people disagree but we took down a lot of trees in our very narrow cottage garden as they were just clogging it up and stopping other plants from getting any sunlight. Since they went the other plants have flourished. We decided to take them down on the recommendation of our tree surgeon as he said he would have to come back over and over again to trim them (I think usually around every 2-3 years). As it happens one of our neighbours has just had to have her tree cut again. As you say, it is not cheap but can understand if you still want to keep it in the future. We’re not going away at all again this year. Molliecat is getting too old to be left for any length of time (I would just worry about her too) along with business commitments. So glad you had such a lovely time though. X.

    interesting to see the footage from your holiday, we have just come back from 2 weeks on the west coast of Scotland, finding it strange being back and missing beach walks😢
    you will love Barter books in Ainwick! it is a second hand book store in a converted train station.

    A really lovely watch Rachael. Glad you enjoyed your holiday away over at The Trossachs, it’s lovely over there. I lived quite close to there years ago. You’ll absolutely LOVE Alnwick Castle and the Gardens, it will be even better if you have a sunny day for it too. We must get together soon for a catch up, it’s been too long since we last saw each other. ☀️🌸🌼🌷

    Lovely holiday video glad you had a wonderful time. They did take a lot of the tree down but look at all the sunshine you have. Also it’s going to be more manageable for you to keep trimming. I love trees but big ones in small gardens can cause damage. We have lots in our garden and the roots are doing damage in our septic tank.
    And yes our children grow up and want to do their own thing. I have 3 adult children with families and you just have to let it go.😢 My baby is 30 this week and he’s going to be a dad in February next year but he still gives me a hug when he visits. I can enjoy it through our grandkids now until the cycle starts again. 🥰

    Winter here in Melbourne. It has been a really cold one too. I have been making lots of the basket bags with some upholstery fabric I "acquired". Currently knitting hot water bottle cover. Thanks for the interesting blog today❤❤

    Hi, Rachael, glad you had some time away. I have some pine funiture I have wanted to paint since I aquired them over 10 years ago, it still might happen lol. I loved the Seven Sister books, they are all books I think I could re read.
    This summer we are packing up for a house move, we are movingto Cumbria. We hope to be in for September.

    Glad you had a good holiday Rachael! Tree cutting is dangerous and expensive business.
    I’ve been working on several Christmas in July cross stitch pieces. 3 are finished and 3 more to go, alternating one each day.

    If Joshua loves cars and racing have you been to the Hill Climb at Doune? There's only 2 a year and the next one is the middle Sunday in September. My 14yr old and hubbie are car fanatics and love it.

    I can relate to teenage withdrawal. My son was 19 when he came back around and it was better than ever! Joshua will get there. Hope the tree comes back out, they didn’t leave much. Did they treat the trunk where they cut it? I always spray sealer on mine to keep bugs out.

    • @SewraymeUk
      @SewraymeUk  Месяц назад +1

      No the trunk has been left as it is, hopefully will grow back a bit more with some foliage.

      @tinafletcher1145 ok. I understand. I do have lucky dip boxes available, if you ordered the large at £30 I could give you everything in the summer box apart from the handmade basket bag. They are £28.50 on their own, so the summer box does give good value considering everything else included. But if that’s not for you either then no worries.
