we used to swim in the little river next to the canal in summertown back in the 70's, parents drank beers, and kids swam, usually about 4 families, we actually were swimming one time while there was a hostage situation going on, a man had it family at gun point or something of that nature, I used to live in bicester, from around 1965 to 1980
