Hi Sean, it was so nice to hear about your story here. I am quite new to Bicester, have moved here since before Covid. The American estate is still here, Caversfield.

@@DriveWithAmy I used to go to saint mary's school and then cooper school, we live opposite on churchill road the 4 houses oppisite, i dont think it will be there now, there was a furniture factory at the end of churchill road, my father was manager there, it will be long gone, if you turned right at the end of churchill road, toward the town,there was a wall near the end, and some buidlings in a court yard, through there was the adventure playground, we called the flying fox, you got a memebrship card, it was around 50p for the year, with that card you could use card to get as a deposit for tool, build tree houses, it would not happen now with health and safety, there was none back then. i was there from 1965 to 1980 when we moved north, i did go back for a visit to the town, around st marrys and where the swimming pool is, not sure if thats still open, went back for visit around 2005, it was weird tho, i was a child back then, everyhting seemed big through a child eyes, yet smaller through adults eyes, went bag to look at the army base, just off the other side of churcill road, turn left to the town right took you to the army area, i remember my first love anne, her father was army, he was re posted, never saw her again, my first kiss when i was 10 at st marys school, my second love she was american, karen, her father was re posted, a trend going on here lol, it must of had influence on me lol, becaused i served in the amry as a medic, and my brother served in the parchute regiment, my partner im with now all her family served, her father and her two brothers, keep in touch, biceter was home to me and always will be

@@DriveWithAmy what was quite funny, the americans holidays were the same as america, our school field the fenc lined backed onto the american estate, we had lots of fights, no physical verbal, kids being kids, i remember the winter, it had snowed, americans were on holiday, so the snow ball fights started english against america, one of the american mothers opened her door to shout us, as soon as she did 50 sown balls went thriugh her door, we did get in trouble for that from the deputy head, got the cane, the cane round the back side was still allowed back then, yeah we were tough, i wont lie it did hurt. we used to do alot of camping out them days on the green areas between the houses. my parents all the parents were drikers back then, worked hard played hard, my best friend all through school neil he was from ambrosden, my mother and his mother worked together, but never knew for a few years, they worked for the misnistry of defence data input, my mother wok on one floor and his mother worked on another floor, we used to past message via our mothers, as there was no tech in the 70's, not everyone had house phone either, calls were expensive. we saw each other everyday through primary school, secondary only each other weekends for the disco's, friday he satyed at mine, saturday i stayed at his, i went to cooper school, he went to the catholic school in banbury.
