As a brown student finishing up freshman year who relentlessly watched this before coming here, it is so weird watching this knowing exactly where this person is at every shot where before I knew nothing.
Jackie King there’s 2 main areas where freshman live, on Pembroke, or Keeney/Wayland. All Pembroke buildings are like 3 minutes away from each other, Keeney is ~10 minutes from Andrews/Pembroke.
Lived in Morris in 1980/1. A truly horrible place. I remember the dirty yellow cinder block walls. Back then the floors were dark brown lino. The "fitted" style closet & drawers were dark brown plastic veneer "wood effect". It ATE any light that managed to come in. Dark, smelly, uncomfortable rooms. Nothing could make them nicer. The windows were over the Pembroke campus refectory, so the room STANK of hot grease all day every day. Especially lovely when it was hot (it wasn't as hot then, summers were about 5 -10 degrees F cooler - thanks global warming) BUT the saving grace was sharing the bathroom with only 3 other people. That was nice. SEcond year: Got lucky. I knew that the 20/30s old part of what was then called Appleby Dorm (on Charlesfield st -it has a different name now), the small older part had big rooms, private bathroom, really HUGE walk in closet, carpets and were quiet. That was nice. Third year: Went to London UCL. Had private room in Max Rayne House in Camden Town. Bathrooms - you share with entire corridor, both genders. Interesting. But there was a bath as well as shower. Very nice to be able to have long hot baths. Most people used showers. Having private room was bliss. 4th yr: Only had to take 3 classes, & finished in mid Dec. They gave me a double room to myself in Perkins - which is usually 2nd year. Bathrooms, disgusting. Mass shower room, huge huge monster blobs of hair clogging drain in middle of room. Toilets doors didn't close. But the room was nice. Carpet. Large desks built into window made from light wood. Beds were pretty good. Would have been less good if I'd had to share, but it wasn't dark and horrible like MOrris. Classes/teachers mostly good. VERY disappointed in students - all they were interested in was comparing who was richer, keen Reaganites, always worried that "locals" might steal their BMWs.. The ones from prep schools arrived with drinking problems. I hope the students are better now.

2:07 that guy knew his room was gonna be filmed? Might want to pick up for 3 minutes 😂
DeShawn Brown wanted to keep it realistic! more often than not rooms get messy when you’re busy running between classes, work, and extracurriculars
Sapphire Faruque no doubt. I’m all too familiar with leaving my shit around and making a mess. Gotta make people think you don’t though!
We've viewed a bunch of Brown dorm tours, and this was the best!
Getting college-sick watching this. Miss Brown!
Love how new pem was left out of this and I agree fully
Is there any opportunity to get a single room? Would it have a bathroom? Awesome video, very nice filming, thanks a lot.
Here in Brazil, there's more than 1,200 universities.
None has the level of Brown University.
Ivy Leagues like International Students, so keep your hopes up!
This video is so good you filmed alot! And walked alot too 😅 Love this

Welcome to my crypt
Thank you so much for this- idk why but I literally can't find any of the dorms on the Brown website. Which dorm would u recommend the most and why?

If it's possible, do you know where any of these people got their over-the-door full length mirrors?
Are you from bangladesh ?
No single rooms??
Pre-COVID, there weren't singles for freshman. Currently the policy has been changed to meet health and safety standards.

Why does your sign on the door says Merhaba?
A friend of mine wrote it and I never took it off
Sapphire Faruque Love it! It’s “Hello” in my language (Turkish) ❤️
DORMS? P U! Butt, and this is a big butt, one must do what one must do. P U and no thanks, in any event.
This video gave me so many false expectations.
