Little known fact: Michael was plastered on Demerol when he did this. He didn’t want to do it, but ended up doing it for his mother.
Even soaring high on Demerol, and doing it begrudgingly, Michael killed it.
And yes, they did rehearse.

'Shake your body down to the ground' was the Jackson's fun-loving....party-time, dance along anthem. I remember when they did that song on American Bandstand! It was 🔥

MJFANGIRL TV He really did look happy. The beat dropped and he came alive!Love seeing all of the brothers together. I was at work watching this and I was smiling hard lol. I love seeing them perform. J5 is the first commercially promoted “boy band” imho they started it all as far as 5 young guys who could sing, dance, ranged in age and were cute. They are the first to lay that blue print and I agree they don’t get the credit they deserve.
So glad they had this one reunion for us to go back to. Could you imagine if they did an Invincible tour with The Jacksons?!

I was actually at both the September 7th and 10th shows. Loved both shows and the Jacksons totally killed it. Michaels chemistry with his brothers onstage was unmatched. I truly wish they had been able to do the planned reunion tour after This is it.

I love everything the Jackson's do... well when Michael is with them. What's amazing to me is, Michael had taken pain medication before doing this show and was almost a no show. But he still came out and killed it regardless! #Badd 🐐

I was so blessed to have seen them live twice. 1st time in 1981 at the Forum and 2nd time in 1984 at Dodgers Stadium for The Victory Tour. I am so grateful for the experience and the memories. Two of the best concerts in my life(and I've been to quite a few). Thank you for reacting to these. Now everyone can see what I saw back then. Michael was greatness! We(Me and my friends), were in love with Marlon too. Lol.

I begin to get emotional everytime I see this show as I attended the 2nd Show,
Which was September 10,2001 and I still have my ticket from this show and this was the 2nd Time that I Actually got to see Michael Jackson perform live,The First Time was The 1988 Bad North American Tour when he Opened his Tour in my hometown of Kansas City,Missouri on February 23,1988 and I can say that this is one Performance I'll remember for all Eternity.R.I.P Michael Joseph Jackson,You may be gone but rest Assured that you're not Forgotten!

I was there for this and it was so exciting! ..It was the only time I got to see Michael!! I have seen the Jacksons without Michael and it just wasn't the same..I mean don't get me wrong they were great but seeing them perform without Michael made me miss him so much more. .You expect Michael to jump out between them (even though u know that he won't )..Some parts of the show I couldn't help but cry, it got emotional for me!..I love this ,it's such a great memory for me!!...RIP MICHAEL ♡♡♡

I watched this live, with my great grandmother, she knew how much of a fan I was since I was little. So this performance means that much more to me because of that memory. She has since passed.

Yes he was crying there! I watched a video where he said, at that point everything comes back, all the stages of struggle and accomplishment flows back. I think the pause is always done on that song. But the emotions are real though, he said so

Yeah, this tearful moment was real according to Michael, he mentioned it in a radio interview with Steve Harvey. In his previous routines he always put Just Can't Stop Loving You and She's Out of My Life together and the first led into the second with a staged tearful moment, but this one feels real to me.

@@danaspetrini8338 what..he had crazy range as a kid...theres a video on RUclips showing it...maybe he didn't have the lowest bottom notes but he had crazy highs probably well past C6..upon puberty you lose top range

I've watched the whole video of this show & I'd have to say the guest performances part of the show was just meh imo. It was only when the Jacksons showed up that the show perked up for me. Their showmanship was just notches above. Then it went up notches more when MJ performed his solo set, not sure how that was even possible. That Billie Jean intro was pure artistry :)

Wow!!! Such a memorable time of life. I got to go to both shows (it taped September 7th and 10th) because I was working at Sony (home of Epic Records...MJ’s label). Who knew just one day later our whole world would be turned upside down...9/11
