I had the chance to meet Kristen and hear a live acoustic session here in Las Vegas today, and the feeling she puts into this song is beautiful. For those of you who want to hate... she didn't make Lacey leave... she left the band all on her own... get over it. She is doing the best she can, and I think it is awesome.

I fully agree with Scott. I saw her sing live at LifeLight and her voice is unique and if people want to hear Lacey, they should listen to Lacey, but I really like what Kristin brings to the band. I can tell she has a background in theater and many other forms of music. She is very talented and pleasant and interesting to listen to.

I was/am a huge fan. Kristen is not Lacey, and that isn't a bad thing. She is amazing in her own right. For a lot of stuff, I like her better. However, I love her voice and my favorite song with her as the singer would have to be So I Thought. In regards to the new singer, Kristen, I love her voice too. Both are a little different but I really enjoy their new music. This is an amazing performance by Kristen.

But it's very weird hearing Kristen song this song because it isn't hers. Broken Wings was Lacey's anthem. She does a well enough job, it's just this song was Lacey's anthem. This song was just made for her voice.
It's different because no matter who the bass player or drummer is the sound of the instrument doesn't change. But a voice, especially like Lacey's, cannot be replaced. Each voice is unique and the sound does change. I do agree that you should love the whole band and it's sad when a member leaves but you just can't replace a singer.
Lacey your voice was 1 in a BILLION..... Flyleaf it WAS one of my #1 bands in High School... i used to have that song as my MySpace back round... its amazing....
Everyone misses Lacey but Kristen is doing an amazing job and she is making it her own, everyone style is different and Lacey was the one encouraging her so less hate more love, that's what Flyleaf is about anyhow! Kristen keep up the good work you and the guys are amazing!

The old flyleaf songs just don't compliment her voice, simply because she's not the one who wrote it, she didn't put her emotions into it. She's not Lacey, but she has a nice voice. The new music will compliment her voice better and include her own emotion.

.Ok I have to say this Lindsey isn't a bad singer. But what made Lacey so great was that when she opened her mouth to sing I could feel every fiber of her being coming through her voice. You know who would have been a great new singer for Flyleaf? Eowyn! She was in a Christian alternative metal band just like Lacey, and her voice has that same unique rigidness to it. Their lyrics are just as deep as Flyleaf's, too :)

Granted, she isn't Lacey and she does have HUGE shoes to fill BUT her voice is truly amazing and it'll probably take some getting used to. Once they make a new album with some songs tailored to Kristen's voice, everything will be legit.

I agree that she's a good singer and should be herself without trying to be a "new lacey" as they sound completely different, but come on! The older flyleaf songs were written with lacey's voice in mind and because of that fact no Kristen will never be able to perform them as well as lacey, when they release new music written for Kristens voice things will be better but until then it's only natural that fans of the band and of lacey would make comparison.
I think the reason why Kirsten sounds so rehearsed is the fact that she is Lacey's replacement and as so she may have to try and sound similar to Lacey. I think she may be feeling it but maybe it's a lot of pressure taking songs that people are use to and trying to do as good as the original. She has the vocal talent but people are use to Lacey's high pitched voice and her trills.
You can definitely tell she is actually singing and there isn't any behind the scenes bullshit behind her voice, which is good. I'd rather a singer not be perfect than have someone make their voice sound better than it is. She does have a great voice. A TAD pitchy at times, but overall very good. I still think Lacey is a better singer. Not because she was first. I truly think that she is a better singer. Kristen is a good replacement though. They'll do well with her.

People need to stop saying this, because they rest of the band puts forth as much effort as a singer, whoever and however unique. Thus, correctly stated, this is new Flyleaf, with Lacey is original Flyleaf. Another example is ACDC was still good with a new singer and they didn't have to change their name.
