Going out with a baby is different for each child. Our first slept through everything, vacuuming, TV and even dad working in his garage! Our second needed complete quiet to nap, that is when sound machines had just come out. It was our savior.
It’s so interesting how different babies can be, even under the same roof! That is something I forgot I had, a portable sound machine haha I need to break that thing out! 🩷
For this mom of 4, grandmom of 3- these magical days with your Annie take me back to the magical days with my own babes and brings such comfort. If I’m feeling stressed, I spend a few minutes in your cozy home with precious Annie and remember my own early baby days. **not sure why early baby days comfort me🤷♀️🤦♀️😵💫- but Annie’s do!♥️♥️♥️
She is one lucky baby girl to have both of you as parents!!👶🏼♥️♥️♥️
**I’m your follower from the gulf coast who saw Sam perform and even got a Sam-hug!! 🤣
I had infertility problems so your story has been a blessing to watch unfold. Mine were back in the day! My oldest is 40! Clomid is about as good as we got but IVF was on the horizon….. I have been fascinated with the medical progress happening to bring these precious babies into the world. We live in a wonderful time in history. We are lucky girls!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙋♀️
Thank you so much Christy! These early days can feel chaotic but I definitely know I’ll look back at them with such fondness 🥹🩷🩷
Still loving and relating to these videos so much! Got a fellow October baby over here! I heard someone say something to the effect of "babies are people too and they deserve to take up space" and that really stuck with me. We started baby boy out at an outdoor winery, brewery, and restaurant when he was 2 weeks old so he could enjoy the fall weather. Then started doing indoor restaurants once he had his first round of immunizations at 2 months. We have a bassinet connector to our stroller so he chills and plays with his toys (usually) long enough for us to eat, then we'll pick him up and let him socialize with people at the table or nearby ❤
Congratulations Lindsey!! I love that so much - they ARE humans! I’d argue adults often make more noise at times 😂🩷
This was the coolest video to me, super interesting to see how you make everything work with wfh + baby at home. You're like a baby scientist/whisperer, and your ability to make a routine work for Annie and how you keep up with it gives my ADHD brain so much comfort too! Thanks for sharing
That is so sweet, thank you! We tried the whole no schedule thing and it was just pure chaos for us all 😅 I also have ADHD! This helps with that so much ❤
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and The Rainbow Fish! Such classics bring so much warmth and joy to the heart, no matter the age 🥹🫶🏻
Our childhood books are the BEST 😍🩷🩷
16 weeks pregnant with my first, but all of my friends with kiddos said that they tried to go to eat at a restaurant at off hours at first. A little calmer, less people, and they would tell the waiter they might need to get their food to go at any minute. Only had to leave a few times but each time got longer and longer and longer until kiddo was content through the meal. Then they started doing busier times!
Y’all are so sweet! I’ve raised three/worked most of the time, and always felt overwhelmed especially at holidays But I always felt like I was doing what I needed to do and that’s so satisfying. Taking kids out to eat can be so stressful..just take it with a grain of salt if they can’t do it, just pack it up to go. Taking friends and family with you to eat helps if you need a helping hand so you can eat. I’ve eaten with one in my lap many times also. Kids adapt to change so easily.
I love this so much, thank you for sharing 🥹 it’s so true about doing what we need to do when things are just so busy! Love the advice on bringing little ones out. Whenever we go somewhere, even if it’s just a walk, Jack always reminds me that the worst that can happen is she’s not feeling it and we just go. So good to keep in mind ❤
Hi Mac - look forward to every one of your updates! You and Jack are doing such a great job! Also love watching how this wonderful adventure is all unfolding for you. Good to see that although following a schedule helps gain some focus on newborn chaos, you’ve also reached a good grounding to know when following a schedule does not work for Annie and you’ve learned to just pivot, it will eventually work out but just in a different time/way from the schedule. So proud of you!! Enjoy each day - it goes by sooo fast - and you’ll soon look back in a month or two and wonder where that baby time went! Big hugs to all of you from California! ❤
Thank you so much for such a sweet comment 🥹 learning to roll with it is definitely a skill she’s taught us and will continue to teach us as we go ❤️
Love seeing how you are balancing work and baby at home, you are doing amazing for being only a few months postpartum! I have been hooked on the huckleberry from the start and their sweet spot feature is fantastic. We struggled with short naps (like 30-45 minutes) till about 5-6 months, but then one day she turned a corner and gave longer stretches. We both are lucky to work full time at home, which we love but our jobs are pretty full on (I have more flexibility but currently is my very busy season). By 8 months she really was needing so much more active play/interaction, I knew it would not be possible for me to tend her and also keep up with my work. So we started daycare introduction the week before christmas and have been in 5-6 weeks of sickness since. She is loving it though, she loves being around the other kids especially. Has never cried with me leaving her there, she eats all her food and milk I send. So anyone worried about doing daycare, find one you are comfortable with and do a trial run. I just recommend not starting in viral season. Best part of my day is picking her up!
You're doing so well Annie is adorable 😍 x
This is nice to watch as a new mom. It’s really tough trying to find a routine for my 7 week old. Things feel so inconsistent for him & it’s been a rough go I feel like. I hope to get more of a system going with him & better idea of his times for wake & nap windows. I go back to work soon so it’s really weighing on me.
Thank you for such detail in your daily life with baby girl 🫶
I SO feel you on this Morgan! Please know our days looked vastly different at 7 weeks - very little schedule, chaos, the whole bit 😅 one thing after another will click into place before you know it! ❤
@@macdingle 🤧💗
I started going out to eat around 3 or 4 weeks. Smbc, but always had someone with me such as my parents or a friend, he always did well, just brought a few toys to keep him occupied.
That’s amazing! ❤
I might've missed it, but can you say what app you're using for sleep cycles?
My little one just turned 4 months old. I also WFH part time with him, and it was so grounding/interesting to see someone else doing the same! Huckleberry has been so helpful for the routine.
I know the “that nap was too short” feeling while working. It does always seem to work out though, and there’s nothing more special than being here with him now.
Thanks for sharing.
No way! Super cool knowing our days are so similar! You’re right, somehow even if/when things go unexpectedly the day always does workout 🩷🩷
Taking a little baby out to eat is actually not that bad. It gets much tougher as they get older though! :D Sometimes we talk about going out to eat, but with a one year old and a four year old, sometimes we just do carryout. Depends on our energy leveles and patience on that day :D
We hav a restaurant girlie. I somehow dragged myself to a restaurant at 1 week postpartum, we sat outside and the entire waitstaff catered to us (it was still a full restaurant). There was loud live music and she slept away. I don't recommend going that soon after birth but we have a standing weekly get together with my husband's father in law. I was in such a newborn daze at that point and was needing some fresh air that I let the guys do it. She's been out to eat almost weekly since birth and really charms everyone haha, especially now that she sits in her Upseat and eats with us.
I remember with my first I was so diligent at keeping a schedule. It actually caused me a lot of anxiety, which I didn’t realize until I had my second baby, and I never kept him on a schedule at all… I just followed his cues. And man, what a difference it made. I highly recommend letting your baby sleep as long as they want during the day, not waking them every 2-3 hrs. That’s really only necessary if she’s not gaining weight!
We tried the whole wing it thing and it was not helpful for any one of us, Annie included 😂 this actually is so much less stressful for our family and makes sure she’s getting the calories and sleep she needs during the day, both helping a TON with her night time sleep 🩷
Y'all are doing such a good job.
Thank you so much Sherri 🥹🩷🩷
@@macdingle you're welcome, she is just the most adorable baby
I applaud you! 👏🏼
My baby (first baby) is 7 1/2 weeks old and I feel like I do not have the hang of a schedule for her! I really hope I can establish a schedule as good as you guys!
I promise you our life was still pure chaos at 7 weeks, you’re doing so good Kristina!! 7 weeks is still so little, there’s so much time to figure out a routine that works for you family 🩷🩷🩷
Hi, when did the contact naps end?
I have a 5.5m old and I just started going out to restaurants during her wake windows since they’re kinda lengthy where I could enjoy dinner with my hubby and not disturb her naps 🥰🥰
This actually makes so much sense! Thank you for sharing! She’s super content during her wake windows but they’re so short and she definitely gets fussy tired towards the end, so venturing out when wake windows are longer makes a ton of sense!
Trick to eating out with baby…just try it 😉. We would eat somewhere loud(ish) and bring the stroller at a table where stroller fits and use the portable sound machine and usually works like a charm! Just time it during nap time and they should be fine. It’s actually easier the younger they are 😂so try it now cuz the older they get they will be more aware
Order your food and then immediately ask for the check and some to go boxes. Then you have the freedom to leave immediately if she can’t hang!
It is so worth it to make the effort to go out, both for your sake and hers! You gain confidence and she learns how to exist out in the world :)
Hi Mac, you're smashing it 👏 🙌 and Annie is simply adorable ❤
Thank you so much 🥹🩷
Hi Mac great video of how you are fitting everything in your doing amazing. I understand how overwhelming it can be especially when you are exclusively breastfeeding too. Just remember you are a fantastic mum and that is the most important thing. Annie is adorable 🥰. When my eldest son was a baby and I was exclusively breastfeeding I took him out in his pram and went out to eat in fact I did it with all 4 of my boys when they were babies as I don’t drive. It was overwhelming at first but I soon got used to it and so did each of my babies. Just try it and don’t put too much pressure on yourself just spend small amounts of time out and build it up. Sending you lots of love xxx 🥰💗🤩
Hey, Cryptic here, been looking forward to your next vlog, Annie is the sweetest little girl please keep showing us more of her. I wanna see her cute face 🥹 You and Jack are wonderful parents!
Oooh I have a tip for taking baby out to food places. It's all about getting to be more noise tolerant. Start off with a café. Think of a Café near you that is not as busy, and go there. If all your cáfes are buay then go to one at a time when it's more quiet. Gradually work up to other places like restaurants, noisy parks, etc. It'll definitely help her in the long run to not be so sensitive to sound, or at least have the character to work through it. Maybe even start by using RUclips cafe ambience sounds to get her used to noise?? Hope that was some kind of a help.
P.s I just want you to know you are a strong momma who is doing so so so well, so hold your chin up high and remember how far you've come. Remember, not one difficult day/situation is ever wasted - we are always growing so take joy in knowing you are moving forward. Even when it feels like you are walking in a zig zag you are still walking and I think that's amazing. Love you lots 😊
Thank you Cryptic! ❤❤
From Australia: if you call strawberry jam jelly, then what do you call jelly? Like the kind that is formed with gelatin?
I love Jack's shirt. Where did he get it?
I got it for this Xmas sticking! www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5NCRKK/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_G79Q420FZY0ASCWT5N3J?linkCode=ml2&tag=junedingle-20
Do you use pacifier?
❤❤❤
P.S. just my opinion, but 4-6 months are the perfect months of that first baby year- enjoy what’s headed your way❤❤❤ - I know you will as you already are!👶🏼♥️♥️
I love hearing about all the good stuff ahead! Thank you 🩷🩷

You got your kitty back?! 😃
This other kitty was always here! Her name is Hippo 🩷
Why so technical with tracking your care taking skills of child ? Seems so weird to me .... wake windows, ques etc so robotic to me 😂
Every baby is soooo different but this semblance of a schedule actually is so good for our whole fam! It makes sure she’s getting enough sleep during the day as well as food/calories, and both of those things help a TON with how she sleeps at night! We did the whole “wing it” thing and it was just not it 😅❤
❤❤❤
