I can imagine an Alt History film of an Italian Civil war of the Democrats and Communists in a Coalition raising up against Mussolini after a failed campaign the 2nd Ethiopian war and this very version of Bella Ciao would be the trailer music and main theme for it

Well actually in 1943 when the italian civil war broke out, the CLN (Comitato di liberazione nazionale / Committee of national liberation) was formed of communists, democrats and even fascists that were disappointed with Mussolini.

Honestly, this is a masterpiece and the best version of Bella Ciao I’ve ever heard. I absolutely love it and would love to listen to it all the time, and in my humble opinion believe it’s actually too good for a video game, especially locked behind a pre-order.
I didn’t preorder, and this is the only way I can listen to it. And it honestly makes me really mad. Complete waste of talent by paradox. I’m not going to buy the DLC because I’ll have no way of getting this song, just because I wasn’t actively playing at that time.

Amazing arrangement. It has by now moved from HOI in my group of friends to being the background music introducing 2/3 boss fights in our TTRPG sessions. And as a musician myself, I greatly appreciate being able to look at the sheet music while listening, especially for vocal arrangements since I have a harder time distinguishing voices compared to instruments.

We need a movie with this as the theme song of the resistance fighters in Italy during WWII. Are there any shows or movies in Italian though about this? I'm trying to get my Italian to be better. Got a few friends that live in Italy.
There's quite a few actually, although most of them are 50+ years old. "Paisà", "The Four Days of Naples", "General Della Rovere" are some I would advise looking up.
