I have seen multiple example of a parent change after they retired. Or they finally realize that they don't know(interlect) as much as their children. It depends on person to person. Usually the switching point is that when they are starting to realize their way of thinking don't fit today's culture anymore and willing to catch up.

Yea, I totally agree. It depends from person to person. I feel the only time people can change is if they want to change. Hard to force it
