She is amazing! I remember all the special teachers that went above and beyond for their students. They had impacts on my life and I appreciate that so much.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Shella and her students at TARC over the many years. One could only wish that all US teachers had the passion and drive that she exudes. I know I didn’t have a teacher of her competence when I was attending high school the 70’s in what has become the Silicon Forest. As a retired scientist, I use my available time promoting, facilitating, and funding STEM activities and use Shella’s achievements to drive home the point of what is possible. Not a big fan of CBS News, but I have to say they were spot on this time.
We need more teachers in this country like Mrs. Condino. When you can teach like she can, kids grow up with the knowledge they need to think outside the textbooks. Excellent. So happy she received her green card...just wish it were her citizenship...bet she's working on that or already a citizen by now....
Wow what an amazing American. Ethnicity place of birth and poverty are not as important as drive determination contributing to your community and Honor.
Here's what MY clerical-error-letter would have said- "Dear Ms. Condino, we have heard that you really want to leave our country, and we really want to know what it will take to make you stay..."
people would be shocked, as I was, if the they knew how many thousands of Filipino's are coming over to teach in the US simply b/c there are not enough teachers to fill long term sub positions here. My wife, a biology teacher, started teaching on the rez in N.M filling a long term sub position that had been vacant for over two years. The hoops she jumped through were silly. Trump didn't help when he stropped the type VISA my wife cam ever on. Now these wonderful teachers and families must return home after two or three years, spend a few years back home then return. That may have changed under Biden not sure. but Trump really mucked it up. The VISA my wife came over on allowed her to work for her green card, then her citizenship. No help from me or the marriage, she did it on her own. She didn't want to use our marriage as a path to citizenship. So ma y great Filipino's teaching our kids, despite their shock of behavior and weak academic skills most US kids have.
“Clerical error” glad things worked out for her she deserves the world for her dedication to those kids
"clerical error" = we were going to go through with it because we dgaf but now it's getting too much attention so we'll pretend we weren't
When you're on 'On the road' and the mayor watches the show...clerical error disappears!

The hope in that little boys eyes when he said, “Never give up, you can do anything in this world if you never give up”
Our country can't afford to pay her for her skills and talent so US was a good option. Needed some hard work but still did a great job. 💪😊👍

Congratulations! You’re the type of people we want here.

Wow. What a shining light influencing generations. And she went there “because no US teacher would.”
Made me cry!

She did follow the law ? So your comment is about wasted
Did you watch the same video as the rest of us?
She followed the law every step of the way.

Only in the USA does it take a Gov. to fix a clerical error....
