@@Alastor255 totally agree, it also seems like there's a few bullets in the roadmap that'll refresh areas that might get stale after months of gameplay. Boats seem cool and I'm interested to see how they interact with the world.
Thanks for this pleasant and thorough review! Been considering this since I first saw it pop up as a "Coming Soon" on Steam. Beautiful looking game and right up my alley, too. Cheers and thanks again.
Did you say PERMADEATH?! Finally someone has the guts to make an mmo with this function. People say those who doesn't like to play pvp or full loot pvp are coward. They have never enjoyed the games with permadeath system like CDDA or Dwarf Fortress.
Permadeath really ramps up the tension in this setting, so I'm right there with you. One thing though, is thatI wouldn't necessarily call this an MMO. At any one point, you have the potential to be in the game world with 6 players. But since the server you log into is randomized, the players you meet are random every time. The only real distinguishable trait is that the scale is smaller. And it's not like you're interacting with that many players in an MMO these days anyway. It's not really a bad thing or something I noticed while playing, and if anything, it'll ensure the game has longevity beyond launch hype.
@@_robo meeting random people all the time is good as it follows the game main theme of being a traveller...if I want a permanent member for adventures Valheim is good enough. I'm tired of standard mmo where all I do is fight and struggle for power. I want an adventure, exploration and discover the world. Also I hate being locked with permanent faction or guild team...makes it feel like I'm anchored. I want to be free...
Tbh it's so easy to regenerate your Life Petals and you can easily flee from any combat at any time, so the permadeath is more of a risk/reward thing as there's a very strong spell that is only active if you have one Petal, and I've heard rumors of certain NPCs who will only talk to you if you have one left.
@@ajbalancedbreakfast8368 shhhh! Spoilers! Let me enjoy it and maybe die sometimes. Don't give me that promise of hope to cheat death...well I know in a deep storied game there should be...but less you know...XD

if they can do everything they said on the road map in a 2 years period, this game is going to be a dream

This walking sim reminds me of Death Stranding.
