In this video, I'll share my take on the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono in the Panda dial configuration. At least for me, this has got to be one of the more compelling sporty chronographs from an established high-horology watchmaker. What are your thoughts on this Overseas Panda Chrono?

This is an amazing PRX homage.

😂
I laughed so hard, snot came out
OOF
I agree completely Teddy. Not only is the VC an incredible brand but in my view surpasses AP by a long shot when you consider the far deeper offerings in the VC catalog. I will also say I was lucky enough to buy 2 Daytona's from my AD back in 2008 when they couldn't sell them. Anyone that pays a penny over retail for a Daytona when they could buy this instead, needs to seek some professional counciling, The VC's are just so much more watch...And I say this a Rolex brand loyalist of 40 years!
2008 is a pretty rare time. We were basically in a economic depression. Even then, at least in my market a Daytona was not easy to get. Rolex was buying back inventory to keep it from sitting in the cases.
You'll be praying for the days of 2008 after the purposeful destruction of this current self-loathing Marxist regime gets their way. Those who didn't follow the mindless sheep in 2008 happened to do spectacularey. As for Rolex buying back hoards of inventory, maybe from the poorly run over leveredged dealers but the good ones were able to provide their loyal customers quite an opportunity. And if memory serves me correctly Rolex closed down 140 plus dealerships including Jesops of California where I bought my first Submariner in 1982.@@Ryansrangereport
I thought it's a reupload of the Tissot review... Shows you actually how similar watches are for the average person:))
Agree 100% Just got the PRX chrono panda dial and I couldn’t be more pleased. Can’t believe a watch like that is under $2k when the big brothers are $30k+
@@JAW114 dogsht resell value though
@@nagarjunablessed4904 yeah for sure. But to me if I lose $500 or so on a watch not the end of the world. Still save $20k on the crazy stuff.
@@nagarjunablessed4904resell? are you broke 😂
VC is #1 of the holy Trinity .
Glad to see people turning their eyes on VC more as AP and Patek have become hyped up pieces and mainstream lately .
You really set yourself apart with a VC now .
Great video , Teddy !
I have had nothing but trouble with my VC overseas. The lug screws came out by themselves during the first week of ownership, had to return the watch for over a month to get it fixed. Recently the watch crown has been slipping and unable to adjust the time. The watch is less than a year old still. Totally unacceptable.
100% agree. They make amazing watches. I’ll never be able to afford one but they are my favorite watch brand.
@@DonLee1980 sad to hear that from you , my friend . I hope that everything is going to be alright .
I own the 4500V blue dial , the now discontinued 2300V ( 37mm ) and the Perpetual Calendar in rose gold and not once I ever had a problem with them despite years of ownerships.
Maybe you were unlucky . Cheers , mate
@@DonLee1980 That is not good enough, But lucky the watches come with an 8yr warranty, my two are working perfectly.
@@DonLee1980maybe don't wear it in a construction site
This is a cool VC for sure. I think the PF Tonda GT is an even more exciting (and overlooked) chrono which happens to also rock an annual calendar.
Hey Teddy! Love this watch! Its Elegant and beautiful. Can you do just a vid on all VC watches. They have so many classic watches. I have recently started watching your content again on YT after a long time. Missed your content a lot!! Its good to see that you are keeping the love for watches still alive for its fans 😍
Yes , do it Teddy !
Wonderful time piece. When i say VACHERON CONSTANTIN, i mainly thought to the high class watches that you will wear with a suit in a private party. With this chronograph you put the wrong things right (in mt mind) . I would be pleased to buy this chronograph . Thank you teddy for this beautiful video.
Thanks to you Teddy I put my name down and a year later I recently got my Overseas Dual Time in steel with blue dial. A watch I truly didn't appreciate until I actually wore it. It is not only better made, a better looking dial and more versatile than the Nautilus or Royal Oak, it's simply a watch for personal enjoyment. Hey it may not attract the mugger hanging around outside the restaurant but not only do I love it, I get to keep it and my friends who hang with me because of who I am and not because of some Kanye bling on my wrist. Quality and class win over time.
So True, understated quality and excellence. I own 2 VC's.
VC, probably the greatest overall watch. Quality, understated, 8 yr warranty, bracelet system, doesn't attract the wrong attention.
And rare - they only make approx 20,000 watches a yr. You can order other colour straps etc. You never get tired of looking at the watch. Wear one and you will understand just why they are so special - Hand made and finished - a piece of high art/work made by master watch makers. Not machine produced, but hand made by a special watch person.
Thank you for the nice review. I got mine last week. It is my first VC. I really enjoy it and wear it with the rubber band. My wrist is not that big but don’t think the size is an issue.
IF i ever bought a full gold watch it would be an Overseas with that amazing bracelet.
GOD i cannot stress enough how subtly elegant Vacheron is - every time I look back at the brand I ALWAYS seem to forget just how great their pieces look. The panda Overseas is no different. And yes after watching this, agree that as long as this Overseas exists at this price point, neither I nor any enthusiast with sufficient horological sense can justify getting a Daytona, a Royal Oak or a PP Naut/complications outside of brand recognition.
Such an on point price point, isn't it?
One reason could be that the Nautilus design is 100 times more beautiful than the Overseas design.
@@thilog5874yeah if you are 65 years old
Fabulous looking watch with VC DNA running through it to the core. Great review
Teddy thank you for your content but big thank you for this video… I am keen to see… possibly to get this watch… great looking piece 👍👍👍
Oh if I had the finances I'd try to buy one of every VC, I'm dead serious these are some of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen it speaks to my soul man.
Normally not into panda, but this hits the spot. I agree this is a grail
First thing that came to mind was … Tissot PRX chrono! 😂
Hey Teddy, thanks for the amazing passionate job. One suggestion: make a video about the brand new Autodromo Chrono Hondikee Limited Edition. Seems to be great cost/benefit. Greetings from Brazil
Love Pandas. They are striking every time I see one. Would have a whole panda/reverse panda collection if I could. Admittedly, $30k is beyond my budget, but would love to see Omega do more Panda variations. My mini-grail is a Speedy Reduced Marui. I see lots of mods on this watch (basic Speedy Reduced with Marui dial/hands) and wish they brought it back or some variant. Nevertheless, beautiful piece from VC. Thanks Teddy.
I mean i dont know why i prefer japanese designs if you want a cool looking panda (auto/mechanical) you dont have a lot of options but try the tissot 👨🍳👌
That is soooooo cool. Very very nice indeed.
This actually is my grail watch. Nice taste!
Man that movement looks beautiful
I just got my blue 4500V the other day and it's spectacular. You can tell how much care this brand puts into its work.
Wow. A panda dial by VC. Amazing
"Utterly Superb" sums it up perfectly
This watch is such a stunner!
Very nice watch, it's a Templar watch ;)
Great video
I'm currently in Geneva to visit Frederique Constant/Alpina, Longines and Omega/Swatch. The Vacheron Constantin HQ is here too, in fact 2 minutes from my hotel. I took a couple of photos of the building. 5 minutes later their security guard stopped me to ask what I had done. So we can add them to Rolex & Co for wanting to guard all things secret. Incidentally, I photographed Rolex and Patek Philippe too. They are all within 2/3 blocks too !
The Panda is a fantastic watch for fantastic money.
I'm on the list with the NYC boutique after getting a 1921 from them last month. Fingers crossed for the call
The 1921 is pure class, congrats.
The gold blue dial 34.5mm overseas is my grail! Love their stuff.
Love it!!!
Love the panda dial, but no hacking still, in 2023?!
honestly, *every* overseas is worthy of grail status. Moreso than AP and Patek. If you end up with a choice between an Overseas, a Daytona, a Day Date, or even e.g a Nautilus...
go for the Overseas. Even if the others are better investments, you'll be honoring the craft more with a VC.
Nautilus for sure...
@@leoniedillon554😂
Reminds me a lot of my Breitling Chronomat B01 42.
Awesome watch. A rich man's PRX..
Still waiting for the blue dial Overseas. Maybe someday I will get the call from the boutique!
That new Tissot looks amazing. Well done!
I have gen2 and on list for new overseas. Love the watch.
Wish I could get past the pothead date window…but I can’t. It’s like the helium escape wart on an Omega Seamaster. Dealbreaker.
Can you do one on the new 34.5mm overseas? For all those small wristed folk like me, thanks!
Have the gold version of the overseas Chrono and it’s my favorite piece. This steel version is cool but I do wish they had a version with white subdials on black dial.
I have a 5500 with a black dial and white subindices. Very beautiful ❤
Love Vacherons heritage but many of their designs just not inspiring...but this is very, very nice😮 like it very much!....unfortunately beyond any budget I’ll ever have but nice to know it exists😅
I love the watch!
I was wondering what u really think about brands that do consistent limited editions for example especially as brands like Oris although dedicated AMAZING causes do u think they hold value on any level better than any of the other watches in that brand definitely not purchasing to make money i get way to attached to most things and not worried about appreciation just if limiteds really hold value outside staple brands or just something nice and unique for the owner
How about a Video around affordable Minute Repeaters? That would be fine
I really can’t find a flaw with this watch the bracelet is perfect actually perfect and the screws in every link ensure a perfect fit. The movement is gorgeous, oscillating weight is flawless. The polish in the watch is amazing. But that damned 4:30 date window kills me. Literally the only flaw on an otherwise perfect watch.
Described very well Teddy and without doubt a beautiful timepiece. Personally I’d drop the chronograph and opt for the precious metal and the even greater understated perfection of the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119G….but that’s just me!
amazing chrono
The sweater is an improvement on the dodgy suede jackets.
I'm disappointed you don't have the Bulova Lunar Pilot on your list of best chronographs. I think their new 43mm archive series lunar pilots are compelling for the price point. I'd rather have one of those over the Hamilton or PRX.
Doesn't need the date and wished they had included a tiny pop of colour...maybe a red tip to the Chrono hand
Beautiful, but why didn't they add hacking to the movement?
when I see this thumbnail I thought to myself: "Holy Sh!t that PRX looks like a Vacheron"
One of the absolute best !!
Very well balanced price for that masterpiece.
My watch trinity is Vacheron, Rolex, and Cartier.
There is no better steel bracelet than this Overseas Model. I’d take it over the Nautilus or the Royal Oak.
my favourite bracelet of all time.
Nice sweater btw, what brand?
On paper It's my favorite watch, even better with that panda 🐼 dial, I wanted one sooo bad until I tried it on and it's unfortunately way too big as many comments already said... Too bad cause design and movement wise it's my favorite among the holly thrinity
Gen 2, just looks so much better to me. The 4:30 date kills it.
date window at 4 is disturbing coming from the top three watchbrand
The band on that Hamilton is gorgeous what is it called please someone help me😢
I’d take a BC over Rolex any day. I also like most of their designs better than PP.
However, compared to A. Lange Sohne-that’s where I pause
I have the Omega Speedmaster racing white dial with two sub dials (panda) I’m good and I didn’t pay above 30 G’s
That’s a pretty good PRX homage.
Love Vacheron Constantin and this watch is outstanding.
can't fall in love with VC, especially with the Oversea nothing is appealing at all for my taste, but the case back off course it's a beauty....
Superb.
The 41mm 3-hander already wears larger than the already large 41mm AP Royal Oak. This Panda is 42.5mm. I don't think it'll look good on anyone with less than a 7inch wrist.
I preferred the grande date previous version
I was allocated one but it’s too big for my wrist I wanna let go
Someone should make a video comparing this to the Daytona panda point by point, with both pieces on camera next to each other. I suspect the Overseas would easily win.
Thats actually really nice and reminds me a lot of the seiko speedtimer but slightly better(okay maybe not just slightly better)
Dear Teddi, I want to buy the whole Concave set. How is shipping to Iraq?
Absolute stunner!
Looks good, but my favorite Overseas is the world time
Nice video
I feel that this would be just perfect with a darker titanium bezel, like the one in the Overseas Everest.
Non hacking, a 52hrs reserve and almost 43mm in diameter?
That date window though
It looks good and I've got a few Tissot's.. my concern is that it seems like the same bracelet as the PRX Powermatic 80s - so is the movement really worth an additional $1200?
1200 ???
@@zstemler5858 The normal PRX movement watches are like 600-800 bucks. This is almost 2k.
This is the best Panda out there.
REAL luxury!!
Compared to the VCO chrono the backside of the new Platinum Daytona looks a little bit cheap.
These watches are not available to buy new so you have to buy in the secondary market and pay premium above the retail price, a good alternative would be to buy a Zenith Chronograph instead !
A great alternative to a PP, and others. Beautiful addition.
For the price they're asking, you would expect Vacheron to at least make this a flyback or an annual calendar with a more unique look, than a fancy cross between AP and Tissot PRX.
Nice.
Nice PRX
Tissot outdid themselves again!😂
what will it be worth in 12 months? Half off?
Really should have bought one when they were absolutely not popular and very much the poor relation to the royal oak etc. Now the prices are silly.
Only 2 brands that make a worth while chrono that is below 50k OverSeas and H moser Streamliner
Two things this watch bugs me. 1) the double indices, 2) the date at 4 o’clock. Picky? Yes! But at this price range I feel entitle to 😂
Such an affordable watch.
Looks like a Tissot PRX chrono! 😅
Nice date window 😂
Is this really a $20k better watch than a Rolex Daytona? My Rolex AD quoted me 4 to 5 mouths for a steel black dial Daytona. Should I wait or just go for the Overseas. Cheers & Thank you
Grail watch!
Great watch but I stay with my PRX 🎉
A beautiful watch, but I can never love a design that marks “60” on the dial instead of “00”. After all, the time is never 5:60 but it is 5:00
