Drayton manor used to be one of my favourite uk theme parks but the park feels like it’s gotten a bit stale over the last few years. In my opinion, this park has the best selection of flat rides in the uk (even above Thorpe park imo) and I just hope they don’t decide to get rid of all of those great rides even if they do decide to cater to the family market
They are getting sued for 2.5 million for a girl that died on the river rapids 3 years ago, it looks like things haven't recovered and until the case is closed nothing major is going to happen
Got so many memories from Thomas Land as a kid, just hope they get a new coaster some time soon, they seem to be lacking in that department. Although Thomas land seems to be their ‘thing’
I think a vekoma STC would be cool seeing as the one open is relatively forceless but still is a thrill coaster so I think it would be perfect for a highlight attraction for drayton manor
Removing and selling apocalypse would be the equivalent of Disney selling space mountain. Although Drayton is a family park both Apocalypse and shockwave are the main thrill rides you go to the park for. If Apocalypse is removed they have to replace it with something good, like a Family coaster, to justify it
They should take the zoo out and replace that whole area with a selection of new rides and also even a small children's petting farm for families at the back end of the park where the Thomas land train drops you off, I think they should do that instead of having a proper zoo now in my opinion.
I bet your gutted apocolypse is going!! I never rode it but it looked a great multi tower! As for the rumoured free spin coaster it would be ideal as drayton always seems to add unique rides and if advertised well it should get the crowds in!
Drayton Manor has needed new ownership for several years. Too many rides out of action, too many ride removals and lack of investment outside of Thomasland has left guests disappointed. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. It’s time for the rapids to reopen with improved safety of course.

Apocalypse is definitely the one being sold on Interlink, It's the only Intamin 2nd Gen Drop Tower manufactured in 2000. It's probably gonna last another season cuz I doubt they'd pull a major ride from their line-up this late in the year, especially with no confirmation from the park.
Hi Shawn, really interesting ideas you've got here. I agree with keeping Apocalypse as long as possible but I have to disagree with removing The Buffalo. It's a cassic Zamperla Powered Coaster and I want it staying. The nice red track really suits it and I believe they re-painted the ride in the past couple of years? As for a new coaster, I would like a Vekoma Booster Bike, because they've got Accelerator and that is very popular so maybe another investment from Vekoma. I think it would fit in very well and Drayton Manor could possibly make room for it next to Accelerator and have the same theme, if you get what I mean? I would also like the Shockwave area all themed around the sea and openeing Splash Canyon once more. Shockwave, Stormforce 10 & the Malestrom already have that sort-of theme so by making Splash Canyon fit as well it would be good. Also, in that area for a replacement of G-Force, as much as it would be good to have maybe a new thrill coaster, maybe just a couple of flat rides themed to that sea theme - I could see them doing this because they would have 3 tracked rides and then the 2 flats making the area very distinctive! This is the park I can really comment on becase I've been going here ever since I was little and I've ridden most of the rides here, expet for the likes of Apocalypse, (Which I am afraid of to this day - I do not like droptowers!) Shockwave, (Which I DO want to ride, but just not had the chance to yet) and the old G-Force roller coaster (Which I never wanted to ride but I would've now if it was still open. Okay sorry my comment has been as long as the Great Wall of China but as I said it's a park I have been going to for a long time and still enjoy when I go nowadays!
Definitely a renovation for stormforce 10, the drunken barrels, the haunting, accelerator and the buffalo coaster. A new ride in the empty space of splash canyon, pirate adventure and Excalibur would be nice to see as well, also bringing back the cable cars would be good as well imo
the building which was for: Pirates Adventure, will be another Dark Ride. I disagree about making it a indoor coaster with some outdoor bits-just make it another Dark Ride which i have been told about the plans.
One thing I'd do is restore the two big scenic rides that are laying dormant - Pirate Adventure and Excalibur. The dark ride could be about smugglers trying to protect their contraband from pirates and the authorities. The tow boat ride could be themed to lake and sea monsters, or prehistoric creatures such as plesiosaur, ichthyosaur etc. I think the lift & launch coaster is a great choice. Following on from that, I think Drayton could become the best park in the UK for airtime and non-looping coasters. Personally, I'd replace Shockwave with a Mack mega-lite. The record of UK's biggest woodie is also not too hard to achieve, and could be a real marketing point. I'm not sure if there is room for one there, but I think a 90-95ft wooden coaster would suit the Viking area south of the lake.
I think a small gravity Group would be fun for Drayton Manor in Thomas Land but I’m not sure if there is enough space. Also I remember watching a RUclips video about Drayton Manor a couple of weeks ago regarding removals and additions and he said, from inside info, that they would be adding a “Batman Ride” in the place of pandemonium and apocalypse. This could be in regards to a free spin or an invert (probably not an invert because of Alton Towers & Thorpe Park having one). But unfortunately I don’t remember the RUclipsrs name.
Hopefully Drayton gets at least 2 major roller coasters because i think it really needs more coasters so a good thrill one and a good family one would be great, i really like your idea of having a family coaster over the lake of Excalibur with some kind of theming. I'm very intrigued what replaces G-Force, Pandemonium and Pirates Adventure.
DMP was my home for many years, I started work there in 2000 which was a glory year, 3 major new attractions; Shoot Out, Popeye Show ( soundstage theatre ) and Apocalypse. In those days the park was buzzing all summer. It’s broken my heart to see what has happened to the park over the years especially more recently. However, what’s done is done and it must move forward. If it were me I would close the park entirely for a year to completely refurb into something spectacular. I would make Thomas Land a separate entity all together. Separate entrance with an option to buy a multi park ticket. Major upgrade to the Zoo. Maybe with its own safari style ride and upgrade to the restaurant. Could even reinstall a themed boat ride on the old Excalibur/Jungle Cruise lake behind the castle. I would definitely re-theme the entire shockwave / Splash Canyon area to something totally different. I would expand T land into the Pirates show building with a dark ride or even a “Weather Friendly” indoor area of Sodor. Lastly I would develop the top car park into an evening entertainment area. Refurbish the old pub, get a couple of nice restaurants up there. Maybe a couple of old school fairground rides, maybe even open up the 4d cinema as a regular cinema in the evening. So much could be done and I hope it is. DMP deserves it.

I live 5 mins away from Drayton Manor and it honestly sounds like they’re stripping the park as much as I hate to say it. I really hope I’m wrong but the park was never very successful due to location, incidents and struggling for costs and I feel it might be slowly going and the land could get used for housing. Any thoughts on this?
How has the park never been successful? It was until very recently the biggest employer in the area and no business lasts for 70 years without success.. it’s location is perfect for the motorway network (which wasn’t in place when George and Vera Bryan opened the park) and it has many visitors from all over the U.K. and beyond. Most of the land is greenbelt and is still owned by the Bryan family (the theme park only occupies less than half of the acres owned, with the rest being rented out to local farmers, the land stretches all the way to the Sutton Road including the fields behind MileOak estate so the chances of it becoming a housing estate is not going to be viable.

From my last visit back in summer 2019...well...they've got a lot of work to do. I'd say more than moving forwards they need to take a good few steps back. They've closed so many classics and ruined the theming of so many others. Tbh the second they stripped out the runaway minetrain and black revolver for g-force they started a downward spiral. They need a huge cleanup ala towers loving care. The zoo needs scaling back (maybe relocate animals to west midlands sp) some attempt to create some age grouped areas. Drayton Manor probably has the best chance to snatch up some of the magic and wonder elements that alton (foolishly IMO) dropped years ago because that stuff sticks in kids minds and is one of the main reasons I love themeparks so much to this day
I think they should reuse the space where pirate adventure was and do something similar to bubble works or toy land tours. I think thatll draw a huge crowd in.
i was horrified to hear Apocalypse is up for sale, I love this ride, although from a business perspective the park now seems to be catering for the young family market and a drop tower looks too extreme and intimidating for the younger rider. I would be very sorry to see it go, I find it the most frightening ride in this country. However it would fit in perfectly at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, perched up where the old dome now stands overlooking the park, that would be amazing.
I just MIGHT be visiting my brother in the UK in September, all going well with Covid restrictions etc, and we will be hopefully visit this park which is his local!! I'll be so excited if it does happen, as it will my first time there!!
The running costs on the Zoo will be high. I would think they might review that part of the park, especially as they have West Mid Safari Park. It must be difficult atm for Zoos & Animal Park attractions. The Tiger 🐅 enclosure at Drayton is especially small imo. Storm Force 10 drenches me every time!!! Old, but epic water ride!!!
The zoo has also been in much poorer condition than the rest of the park for years. If that's their way of saving costs so they can add something more thrilling (preferably a coaster), then I hope they close it down!
I have only visited Drayton Manor once... It had Ben 10 and Shockwave as their 2 main rollercoasters. The whole place looked really tired and the staff looked bored as well. Such a shame, because It has loads of potential and I only hope the new owners invest some serious money into it and make it a better experience.
the first coaster i ever rode was the Ben 10 boomerang at drayton, it’s a shame the park seems to be declining. Once that incident on the rapids happened it seems the park is losing what made it great
I think apocalypse fans will get a petition or something to stop them removing it I mean come its to Damm unique driving from where I live in Hinckley u can only just see it picking out over the trees

Do you know what would be great, well I would love a video on top 10 parks with the shortest / longest queue times. Queueing multiple hours for a ride can take the edge off my overall experience of the park.
I've heard a lot of rumours about the next 5 years of investment the Looping Group have planned... I think it could be an interesting next few years for them. I plan to go this year for the first time in late April so will be keen to see the park and watch it grow over the next few years.
Gutted about apocalypse...I wonder how much they're selling it for? Anyone know its initial cost? I know it would never happen because of the height restriction, but I always thought how good it would be having shockwave at alton.

I went there in 2008-2010 summer time there amazing stormforce is my favourite ride. Glad the waltzer in the dark went as although a great ride sometimes because of the lights going out you might get motion sickness.
That flamin haunted house needs scrapping. Make it a standard haunted house dark ride. Re theme the water boat ride into something better. Shockwave could become ice blast ( as it’s in that area ). Cover it in Ice crystals. They should do Cadbury land in conjunction with Cadbury too
@@ThemeParkWorldwide welcome mate Shockwave would look awesome with ice hanging off the track. Fake snow mounds all around. Even storm force could be re themed as blizzard. The backward drop being similar to Valhalla with ice cold air and snow
Just looked at Interlinks website, Pandemonium is still up for sale but Apocalypse isn't listed at all, not even as sold. I personally would never ride Apocalypse again but I don't think it should be sold and removed, like a lot of rides at Drayton Manor its an icon of the park. I love Pandemonium but its not the most comfortable ride in the park so while I'd be sad to see it go I wouldn't mind something better, Shockwave, as much as i love riding this coaster, is even worse, I think the Looping Group should meet with Intamin and redesign the carriages for Shockwave, keep the standing cars but it is one of the most uncomfortable rides in the park. I think the area towards the main entrance near Apocalypse needs some more modern attractions, a lot of the rides in that area are too outdated and after a couple of hours in the park you get bored and me and my partner are two of the biggest kids you could ever meet.
What do u think of the current work going on Splash Canyon, Shockwave, Stormforce 10 and Maelstrom? Forget TLC more like DLC care this closed season by the looping group.

I want to tell you something, over few years, visitors of drayton manor has decreased, i hope they do something because it could get worse in the future, i understand drayton manor want to make family park, but they have to keep thrill ride, otherwise they will loose lot of visitors because in drayton manor, adults do go there and the one like scary ride, if there is no scary ride, then they will not go there, this is why they have to keep apolcaypse, shock wave and log flume ride as well as malestrom and pandemonium, however drayton manor do need to replace pirate adventure, big wheel and g-force as well as splash canyon as we are unsure at the moment. However this was my wishlist which won't come true, but this is what i imagine if i was the owner of the theme-park, what i would do is have an ghost train ride that replace pirate adventure and have excalibur ride, an new version next to the pirate adventure. Also i would call this area ghost and pirate, also i would keep the pirate ship. However i would add sombrerero ride on the area where g-force used to be, also for the thomas-land, i would extend one area of zoo and add play-house, the size of twinlake theme park of playarea which is massive and is indoor. Also i would add themping to the ride that used to be ben ten and re-design it, this time make an quad bike of batman ride on the area were ben ten is, also i would add batman shop next to the ride, this theme could be perfect. Also i would remove splash canyon and use the area to expand log flume as i would also add indoor log flume as well as keep the outdoor log flume, this is joint ride, also i would keep the buffalo ride, that's all i would have in my wishlist
i think because pando has high restrictions, that needs to go, shockwave and apoc and maelstrom need to stay, i dont think they realise how many people would stop visiting the park if any of them went, especially the stand ups.

My 7 year old goes on apocalypse, pictured..... it is a family ride !!!! don't get rid of it Drayton manor. We went on it in April 2022! so its still there and still our favourite.
Id say Drayton should get a b and m invert, I would love a new invert in the uk. Something other than nemesis and inferno as I love b and m inverted coasters and the uk deserves another one.

Sorry to bring bad news, but I heard late last year that Apocalypse was going to be removed from an employee at the park.

I think they should reuse the space where pirate adventure was and do something similar to bubble works or toy land tours. I think thatll draw a huge crowd in.

They can’t get rid of Apocalypse it’s a great ride, yes new family coaster needed, and Splash Canyon needs to reopen in and safe new way.
i was horrified to hear Apocalypse is up for sale, I love this ride, although from a business perspective the park now seems to be catering for the young family market and a drop tower looks too extreme and intimidating for the younger rider. I would be very sorry to see it go, I find it the most frightening ride in this country. However it would fit in perfectly at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, perched up where the old dome now stands overlooking the park, that would be amazing.
Let’s hope that the ride stays at the park
I just MIGHT be visiting my brother in the UK in September, all going well with Covid restrictions etc, and we will be hopefully visit this park which is his local!! I'll be so excited if it does happen, as it will my first time there!!

Drayton Manor look like it could be a family theme park for me. Except the bigger thrill coasters like Shockwave!
The running costs on the Zoo will be high. I would think they might review that part of the park, especially as they have West Mid Safari Park. It must be difficult atm for Zoos & Animal Park attractions. The Tiger 🐅 enclosure at Drayton is especially small imo. Storm Force 10 drenches me every time!!! Old, but epic water ride!!!
The zoo has also been in much poorer condition than the rest of the park for years. If that's their way of saving costs so they can add something more thrilling (preferably a coaster), then I hope they close it down!
I have only visited Drayton Manor once... It had Ben 10 and Shockwave as their 2 main rollercoasters. The whole place looked really tired and the staff looked bored as well. Such a shame, because It has loads of potential and I only hope the new owners invest some serious money into it and make it a better experience.
It’s such a shame, let’s hope the park has a plan for the future!

the first coaster i ever rode was the Ben 10 boomerang at drayton, it’s a shame the park seems to be declining. Once that incident on the rapids happened it seems the park is losing what made it great
I think apocalypse fans will get a petition or something to stop them removing it I mean come its to Damm unique driving from where I live in Hinckley u can only just see it picking out over the trees

Do you know what would be great, well I would love a video on top 10 parks with the shortest / longest queue times. Queueing multiple hours for a ride can take the edge off my overall experience of the park.

Shockwave is my easiest option to try a stand-up coaster. I hope I get to ride it before it is closed or converted.

I've heard a lot of rumours about the next 5 years of investment the Looping Group have planned... I think it could be an interesting next few years for them. I plan to go this year for the first time in late April so will be keen to see the park and watch it grow over the next few years.

New ride on the old Excalibur ride area maybe themed to dragons or a new theme (Possibly a Mack rides spinning coaster or flying theatre)
Accelerator track repaint
New family flat ride replacing pandemonium
Removal of the rope course (that is SBNO)
New themed area in the old rope course with family drop tower, family bike coaster like hagrids at Islands of adventure and retheme to buffalo coaster

I went there in 2008-2010 summer time there amazing stormforce is my favourite ride. Glad the waltzer in the dark went as although a great ride sometimes because of the lights going out you might get motion sickness.
That flamin haunted house needs scrapping. Make it a standard haunted house dark ride.
Re theme the water boat ride into something better. Shockwave could become ice blast ( as it’s in that area ). Cover it in Ice crystals. They should do Cadbury land in conjunction with Cadbury too

@@ThemeParkWorldwide welcome mate Shockwave would look awesome with ice hanging off the track. Fake snow mounds all around. Even storm force could be re themed as blizzard. The backward drop being similar to Valhalla with ice cold air and snow
Just looked at Interlinks website, Pandemonium is still up for sale but Apocalypse isn't listed at all, not even as sold. I personally would never ride Apocalypse again but I don't think it should be sold and removed, like a lot of rides at Drayton Manor its an icon of the park. I love Pandemonium but its not the most comfortable ride in the park so while I'd be sad to see it go I wouldn't mind something better, Shockwave, as much as i love riding this coaster, is even worse, I think the Looping Group should meet with Intamin and redesign the carriages for Shockwave, keep the standing cars but it is one of the most uncomfortable rides in the park. I think the area towards the main entrance near Apocalypse needs some more modern attractions, a lot of the rides in that area are too outdated and after a couple of hours in the park you get bored and me and my partner are two of the biggest kids you could ever meet.
apocalypse is still there, its just not listed as apocalypse atm

Hi themepark worldwide, thank you for making this video. I want to tell you something, over few years, visitors of drayton manor has decreased, i hope they do something because it could get worse in the future, i understand drayton manor want to make family park, but they have to keep thrill ride, otherwise they will loose lot of visitors because in drayton manor, adults do go there and the one like scary ride, if there is no scary ride, then they will not go there, this is why they have to keep apolcaypse, shock wave and log flume ride as well as malestrom and pandemonium, however drayton manor do need to replace pirate adventure, big wheel and g-force as well as splash canyon as we are unsure at the moment. However this was my wishlist which won't come true, but this is what i imagine if i was the owner of the theme-park, what i would do is have an ghost train ride that replace pirate adventure and have excalibur ride, an new version next to the pirate adventure. Also i would call this area ghost and pirate, also i would keep the pirate ship. However i would add sombrerero ride on the area where g-force used to be, also for the thomas-land, i would extend one area of zoo and add play-house, the size of twinlake theme park of playarea which is massive and is indoor. Also i would add themping to the ride that used to be ben ten and re-design it, this time make an quad bike of batman ride on the area were ben ten is, also i would add batman shop next to the ride, this theme could be perfect. Also i would remove splash canyon and use the area to expand log flume as i would also add indoor log flume as well as keep the outdoor log flume, this is joint ride, also i would keep the buffalo ride, that's all i would have in my wishlist

i think because pando has high restrictions, that needs to go, shockwave and apoc and maelstrom need to stay, i dont think they realise how many people would stop visiting the park if any of them went, especially the stand ups.
Haunting needs sorting out big time lol, its literally just a rumbling floor and rotating hall. Saddest haunt I've ever seen

Only been to Drayton Manor once, think it was maybe 6 years ago and I really enjoyed it. I'd love a new roller-coaster, maybe a big thunder mountain style family one.

Id say Drayton should get a b and m invert, I would love a new invert in the uk. Something other than nemesis and inferno as I love b and m inverted coasters and the uk deserves another one.
