Good to see old Tupelo here. I'm going to Asheville NC in June to hear Shaye's other band, Wit's End Brass Band, and I understand some Tuba Skinny members will be there, too. I have a nice new phone and will try to record a couple of numbers. Jason is living there now, and I hope he'll be there. Regarding this number, seems more complex than some, and reminds me of music from the early black and white cartoons. There was quite a music education incorporated within those entertaining films.

Hard to pick just one, but I think this is my favorite TS song. Greetings for SoCal.

Thanks for posting. It was also nice to see Tupelo again, scratching to the beat.

@@PopsCoffee Thanks a lot for the video. As for your great list, there are 430 tunes on it right now. I have a copy from November 2020, when it contained 372 tunes. It turns out that for the last 2.5 years, on average, TS has released one new song every two (2.2) weeks. Whereas before, about one song was released in 1.6 weeks. It can be seen that a lot of continuous work is being done by the band to update and expand their repertoire, although in recent years its rate has slightly decreased.

Thanks for counting them, jouli rew, and for the analysis. It seems to me that most bands - even very good ones - have a repertoire of about 100 - 150 tunes. But Tuba Skinny's repertoire is phenomenal. And some members of the band seem to remember them all, including the structures they usually follow when playing them. How on earth do they do it?

@@PopsCoffee Thank you. Excell counted them for me. I agree with you, these facts are surprising. I can guess what is the reason for such a difference in the size of the repertoires. Although perhaps my conclusions are obvious. I read somewhere (maybe it was the words of Shaye or Robin, I forgot) that they like to get together, listen to records and choose new tunes to play. I was wondering how this happens. From this data, it appears that such gatherings probably occur at least once every one or two weeks. So perhaps the reason for the difference in the volume of repertoires is that Tuba Skinny is primarily musicians in their life philosophy. Thus, for Tuba Skinny, the main goal is not just to make a living with music, for which some popular repertoire may be enough, but a life of constant exploration of new and rediscovery of interesting music. In other words, they make money on the streets in order to be able to get together, listen to records and learn, arrange or compose new tunes. With such a lifestyle, the repertoire will inevitably grow. These are not statements, but only my thoughts.

Thanks for your speculations, jouli rew. I think you are correct.
