In fact, between MAS-NZM, the 12269 Duronto is faster than the 12433 Rajdhani. Likewise, between SDAH/HWH-NDLS, the 12259/60 is faster both ways than the 12313/14 Rajdhani. As it takes only 17 and 17.05 hrs. as compared to 17.45 hrs taken by 12313/14 Rajdhani. Even between SDAH-NDLS, despite covering 12 kms. more, the 12259 Duronto takes only 17 hrs. flat as compared to 17.10 hrs. taken by the 12301 HWH-NDLS Rajdhani. Then, between NDLS-MMCT, the 22209/10 Duronto is faster bothways compared to the 12953/54 A.K.Rajdhani. The concept of Duronto was to have fewer halts than even Rajdhanis and be either equal in speed or even faster to them, to an extent. In fact, the time difference of 45 mts. between 12313/14 SDAH-Rajdhani and the 12259 Duronto (it takes 45 mts. less) is quite staggering.

I have a question Akshay, the Duronto came to Nagpur at 2105 or 9.05 pm but it left Bhopal at 3.30 distance is only 400 kms. but it took 6.30 hrs.? 3.30 am dep. BPL means only 7 hrs. approx. are left for it to cover the balance 694 kms. then it would have arrived late at NZM, at least by a couple of hours, I guess. It couldn't have entered NZM before 12 noon. No wonder you met Kerala exp. which leaves NDLS at 11.25 am and crosses NZM by 11.45 or so.
