Myrna was a wonderful actress. Her films have certainly stood the test of time and are a pleasure to watch eons after they were filmed. Besides the "Thin Man'' films, my favorites are "Libeled Lady," "Test Pilot," "Manhattan Melodrama," "Wife vs. Secretary,'' and so many more; most have been remastered and are still available online.
Myrna Loy is my favorite actress. For me her biggest appeal is that she comes across as being extremely intelligent. You can see in all her acting that she has a self confidence that if you got in a battle of wits with her. She could devastate you without even trying. She was also very beautiful. I saw her in one movie from the early 30's (I hope someone here can help me with the name of the movie.) where she came down a long staircase in a shear floor length silk dress and she was just stunning.

There are 2 theaters, Grauman's Egyptian and Grauman's Chinese, both on Hollywood Blvd. Grauman's Chinese is where you can see the handprints and footprints of movie stars; Myrna's first job was at Grauman's Egyptian, part of a group of dancers. The area, once glamorous, has seen better days.

I've been to the tiny town of Radersburg, Montana, where she was born. It was. from another world, truly the very old west of Montana. Dont know if the town still exists, it may be a ghost town now. I visited the town in the early 1990s. Like going back into an old cowboy movie. Gary Cooper was born and raised nearby in Helena, Montana. he was a true cowboy and a good man. Myrna and Gary, fantastic, down to earth, honest, honorable people. I love them both. They don't make people like that anymore. I'll be 80 next year, so I know how human beings have changed in the past 80 yesrs... to today. I long for the old timers, who were basically good and honorable. Yesterday was President Joe Biden's 79th birthday, and he's one of those old timers. I was born two weeks after him, in December, 1942, during WW11. Oh Lord, I long for the greatest generation. Let's build another greatest generation.

I’ve been trying to find out where Paul Maclean (author Norman Maclean’s brother) lived when he was working for the local newspaper but no luck so far. But I do know where Louis Riel once stayed in town. Lots of history in Helena, Montana

I've noticed the same thing. I think it's an AI. I love this channel so whatever is behind it or whoever is behind it they're doing something right. But oftentimes a story will be repeated but in slightly different words or the title will not make grammatical sense. Or things that are commonly pronounced only one way are pronounced differently. I just watched the Candice Bergen one and the way the voice says Candice is strange although that could be attributed to a European accent I suppose. It's these little things that point to it being some type of a computer program. Alternatively it could be that someone uses a bot program to gather information as well as a computer voice to read it. But my theory is that it's Hal the AI.

I only know her from Cheaper by the Dozen, and will always love that performance. My theory about actors' fanatical liberalism is that their careers depend so heavily on make-believe they compulsively push reality away. Loy was clearly an extreme case, lowrating the 1940s because they led up to McCarthyism in the 50s etc.
