Alterable means you can change setting on the task later on. Without setting it to yes you won't be able to change the task anymore afterwards.

I have to say, trying to update the feeds has been a major pain in the ass. Connection reset by peer... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

when you say if you dont get a response youll do an nmap scan, in nmap do you use the same IP range to discover?

¿Ha intentado desinstalar y reinstalar GVM? Parece que ya estaba instalado en un momento, tal vez incluso incorrectamente.
