Hi Alton, Thanks for the video. A small doubt, Does nessus use nmap for port scanning?
No, it doesn't, it has it's own port scanning tool. Glad glad you enjoyed the video.

If you're going to scan the internal network -- as a consultant -- what is best practice to get tools like Nessus in to that network? Ask the company to create VM for you?
No, if you were a consultant, you'd have your own commercial license, so you'd have it on your laptop.
Does the Nessus Vulnerability Scanner for Linux have essentially the same interface as that for Windows? I will hopefully be working using NVS on Windows.

Can I run nesus on kalilinux running only 2gb ram Virtual box?
I would recommend looking at Nessie’s website for their software minimum requirements to determine if you can or can’t.
