When I listened to the Japanese version I thought the official English version was gonna suck but as soon as I listened to this I was BLOWN AWAY! This exceeded my expectations! Brilliant job!

@@NekoinaBox2000 Yeah. I mean... I don't think she'd be that predatory either. But I don't think they'd just be paying her. It's be for extra studio time, sound equipment staff etc. So maybe they just couldn't afford to dub the songs officially... or they didn't have the rights to cover the songs in english. Licencing agreements are just really tricky to navigate. Considering the time and money to invest in all this... it was probably easier for them to just slap subtitles on for the songs. The studio probably didn't have enough time even if amalee oferred to do it for free. It wasn't like in film gold where there was one grand song at the begininng. This one has 6 full songs. Those take time.

Both versions leave me absolutely breathless but this version....AmaLee this year has been one of the most challenging for me in a long long time. And your voice, the impact, the passion and strength that it expresses leaves me feeling released. I'm actually very impressed with those growls that you did. That's the most intimidating thing to replicate with Ado songs in my opinion, but you did great! Very well done, I'm sure she'd approve as well.
Seeing how well someone can handle Ado's growls are some of my favorite things to watch out for on covers of her songs, and yeah, AmaLee does a great job with 'em here.
Over the years, you've covered songs that tested your limits. Tot Musica is definitely up there as one of the most challenging songs you've recorded vocals for, and you rose to the challenge. Even one working vocal chord can achieve much when challenged! Salute!!!
This English cover is freaking amazing! This is my favorite track on the OST by a large margin. You absolutely crushed this! (Just make sure to take care of your voice). I'm sure there were contract agreements in play and whatnot for Ado but CR and Toei missed out big time on having you do a complete English set for the OST. It would've been so cool to see and would've really raised the bar for the dubbed version. I'm usually a sub enjoyer but that would've really elevated the entire experience for the dub watchers. @@johnnysasaki The English dub is likely their second largest money maker. Ado was also recently signed by an American label. It's highly likely that Ado's original versions were left in because her label(s) are trying to increase her exposure and popularity to the English speaking community. It may have even been contractually required during the process of signing Ado as Uta's voice. They do weird stuff like that sometimes to promote people. Regardless... it's still a big missed opportunity cuz Amalee would've knocked it out of the park for sure.

Plus this cover has no nuance or sense of progression/storytelling compared to the original. Between the vocals and the arrangement they made it sound like something out of an Evanescence album rather than something that shows up in the context of a movie. (For the record, I love both AmaLee and Evanescence lol)

Ado is extremely talented, just like Amanda who's been singing far longer than her and thus has more experience. They have different techniques and are very good singers in their own styles. Amanda did very good with this cover, singing it her OWN way while still retaining the screamy side of the original.

What makes this song scary is that it was sung only by free will when Uta had truly become unhinged and lost most of her reason from the lack of sleep and constantly having her version of bringing peace denied over and over. The Death Music influenced her unstable mind into unleashing it. It's also sad, in that the lyrics imply a pain held deep inside for a long time is being unleashed. And pain can wash over a radius depending on its strength. Just look at what the pain of Ultron nearly did to the world. In the end some are broken and lashing out in confusion.

I knew the lyrics would remain almost unchanged. Like, when I was listening to the song for the billionth time, I noticed that almost every syllable matched and this would be very easy to sing to in English without changes.

I'm glad to hear this in English. There's not a lot of professional singers who have the pipes like Ado. It's be for extra studio time, sound equipment staff etc. So maybe they just couldn't afford to dub the songs officially... or they didn't have the rights to cover the songs in english.
Licencing agreements are just really tricky to navigate. Considering the time and money to invest in all this... it was probably easier for them to just slap subtitles on for the songs. The studio probably didn't have enough time even if amalee oferred to do it for free.
It wasn't like in film gold where there was one grand song at the begininng. This one has 6 full songs. Those take time.

Seeing how well someone can handle Ado's growls are some of my favorite things to watch out for on covers of her songs, and yeah, AmaLee does a great job with 'em here.
Over the years, you've covered songs that tested your limits. Tot Musica is definitely up there as one of the most challenging songs you've recorded vocals for, and you rose to the challenge. Even one working vocal chord can achieve much when challenged! Salute!!!
This English cover is freaking amazing! This is my favorite track on the OST by a large margin. You absolutely crushed this! (Just make sure to take care of your voice). I'm sure there were contract agreements in play and whatnot for Ado but CR and Toei missed out big time on having you do a complete English set for the OST. It would've been so cool to see and would've really raised the bar for the dubbed version. I'm usually a sub enjoyer but that would've really elevated the entire experience for the dub watchers.

It's highly likely that Ado's original versions were left in because her label(s) are trying to increase her exposure and popularity to the English speaking community. It may have even been contractually required during the process of signing Ado as Uta's voice. They do weird stuff like that sometimes to promote people.
Regardless... it's still a big missed opportunity cuz Amalee would've knocked it out of the park for sure.

Plus this cover has no nuance or sense of progression/storytelling compared to the original. Between the vocals and the arrangement they made it sound like something out of an Evanescence album rather than something that shows up in the context of a movie.

What makes this song scary is that it was sung only by free will when Uta had truly become unhinged and lost most of her reason from the lack of sleep and constantly having her version of bringing peace denied over and over. The Death Music influenced her unstable mind into unleashing it.
It's also sad, in that the lyrics imply a pain held deep inside for a long time is being unleashed. And pain can wash over a radius depending on its strength. Just look at what the pain of Ultron nearly did to the world. In the end some are broken and lashing out in confusion.

I saw One Piece Film RED in theaters last weekend with my buddies and I fell in love with your performance of Uta, her dub was absolutely perfect and she has already become one of my favorite characters in all One Piece! I couldn't believe it when I saw your name in the credits and loved it even more. Now this song completely translated and done in your amazing voice is absolute perfection and seems like destiny. I'm glad to hear this in English. There's not a lot of professional singers who have the pipes like Ado. But you definitely did this song justice and it's nice to able to close my eyes, sing along, and understand what's being said without having to read the lyrics. I really hope you cover all of the songs and that they appear on the blu-ray version of the movie.

Ugh I got to comment the deep growls in those runes is what makes it the best. The pronunciation of them and the power. God I love this matches Uta but this gives that growl and power to a whole new level. Love it can’t have enough of it.

Pretty decent cover, and that's impressive trying to cover Ado, her
diaphragm control is on a whole different level. So yes, it's not as powerful as hers, but it's still leagues better than most. So good job!
