The sims 3 is seamless, can change from sim to sim, all in an open world, customize everything, the sims 4 is really the peak of greed with all the "expansions"
Not seamless, you can change from Sim to Sim within a family, but if you change families you will lose all current promises and wishes for that family. The family will also be spun out of your control, meaning they are now subject to the Story Progression system, the system which "makes Sims live". Actions such as moving, job progress / career change, marriage, divorce, pregnancy and such will be autonomous... which sucked for me as a rotational player and why I still love Sims 2 more. I can rotate and not lose progression on a household and the rotation keeps everyone growing up together. There are mods now which correct this issue with Sims 3 for rotational players tho. And it is a great game, no question. Just not to my taste in vanilla form for this issue.
@@NotLikeUs17Paradox paid for the entire game development. They own the game. Why on Earth would they just give it to this small team to own? Then Tectonic would have to repay them for it to go 'indie'.
Such a shame I pre ordered alone in the dark I was really curious to see David harbour and maybe wasn’t worth the price point but it was new felt fresh and it wasn’t a remake I agree we need to different types of games I am sick and tired of remaster and re releases as I find they are a mixed bag, love sly cooper but this ps5 version I don’t care for
It's a valid game, ofcourse it's gonna get canceled. Those workers got treared like dirt and the fact that it's allowed to fire a whole team is beyobd me. I tuink EA bribed them so they can keep surviving on Sims 4.
None of you know how hard those people worked. And sadly, people are laid off often....nothing new. This couldn't have been a 9 to 5 job for any of them or else the game would have been finished by now.
Comparing LBY to Cities 1 isn't a congruent comparison despite the fact people keep making it. LBY was being developed by a brand new team just to make *this* game. Colossal Order had a dev team with experience in previous Simulation games before Cities 1. It was also timing as Sims City 2013 had a massive disaster of a launch on it's own well before Cities 1 showed up. And what we got as a result wasn't even competition, Cities took over the genra and EA just left. So instead of innovation, we had Colossal Order without competition for Cities 2. Which turned out terrible on launch. That being said, CO had experience doing simulation games as a team for their publisher Paradox well before Cities 1 and LBY had just been formed with Devs who had no team experience producing any other game and was honestly making a game that looked worse than Sims 3 and was more a "tool" than game. Sims 2 was a great game because it was just that, a game. Which pre-established lore you could follow or ignore. Sims 3 is already a better game than that which was being developed by Paradox Techtonic. It just doesn't have a modern stamp on it, but fans and modders have solved most of its performance issues. Money would be better spent (at this current date) just getting all of Sims 3 TBH. The best thing EA did for Sims 3 was move on from it as the community has just made it better since even if it's not my favorite Sims game (that's Sims 2).
The LBY team put more heart in the their game than EA has with the sims 4 and all 100 plus DLC.
Right. Reason it they immediately cancelled it. Heart.
Damn. What a tease this was!

I didn't see any promise from this game, or rather sandbox. I also did not like the artstyle
The community would have paid for that game. They could have done a patreon.
The devs were asking PDX if they could go indie and release the game and PDX cut off communicating with them.
Why should they ask for money when they are a company?

The way that game looked? It wouldn't have been much in that Patreon....

That's sad
