Highway 17/Sandtraps have in combination with the abandoned houses and the ambience an eerie feeling. People used to live in these houses. Now there are xen creatures like headcrabs or antlions which make highway 17 unlivable. It makes you think how other place on the planet look… Also did you notice that there was barely any vegetation on highway 17? I mean it’s fall at that time but just look at white forest: It looks so much more alive. Maybe it has something to do with the relatively low combine activity there…
