His power is UNLIMITED! Dallas and his crew have done such an amazing job with this series. All glory to God most high!

    Yeah this whole episode was just so well crafted! I think whenever I have read this story, I always imagined Jairus being impatient or bothered that Jesus got interrupted. But I absolutely love that he was just as moved as Veronica was. Jairus was a dad too and saw a daughter sick and unwell and healed, how could he not be anything but sympathetic for her condition and thrilled with her healing? So good!

    I always make the distinction that “abba” is more akin to a child calling their father “papa”… mostly because it’s less cringey than “daddy” but also because it sounds similar and is more culturally relevant throughout most of the world😂
    Regarding this scene and the verses in the bible they are portraying, I love it!
    I can’t help but be concerned about how many people will take this example to be directly literal in thinking their faith is supposed to always heal their ailments and keep them perpetually healthy.. (tho there IS a point to be made that when a believer has discipline to honor their body as a God’s temple, they WILL be healthy.. 😉) because unfortunately I’ve seen first hand how that mentality can shape people’s behavior towards others in regards to their “level” of or how genuine someone’s faith is😢
    Love you all, God bless🙏🏼

    episode 5 is one of the best but to be honest as i commented on the fb page of the chosen.. i cannot pick one that is outstanding when all of it made me fall inlove with Jesus deeper and deeper.. but the effect of "veronica scene" to me is her suffering.. a lot of us has that emotional/physical/spiritual/mental suffering that we carried all throughout our lives that only Jesus can heal.. he is all that we need we just have to believe.. have faith and obey!
    Jesus for me is the best partner I have and he is my bestfriend,my everything.. He humbles and strengthen me all at the same time.. I am delighted in my low and highs.. i have faith and I live with it..
    I hope all of us find healing and redemption through our faith.Because I am woman with past and he welcomed me.. ❣️❣️❣️🇨🇿

    The only thing I think Dallas Jenkins dropped was when they told Jairus that his daughter died, Jesus tells him “do you believe?” And in scripture he says “I believe! Help my unbelief!” Probably one of the most impactful responses to Jesus in all of scripture, and could have been an amazing message to people watching who don’t know Jesus.

      I re-read the passages in Mark 5 and Luke 8 that give this account and I did not see this response from Jairus. I believe you are thinking the response of the father of the demon possessed child in Mark 9. It would be impactful to have that story portrayed by The Chosen. Blessings.

    This seems to capture that scene from the scriptures well. People get all hung up about some theological inaccuracies or changes, but any adaption of the scriptures is not going to 100 percent capture it. If the changes aren't ruining anything it should be fine all things considered imo.

    Might be a dumb question but what's with all the: "clean" or "unclean"? What's makes something "clean" or "unclean"? Is this similar to the Ecclesiastes' food passage? Is it similar of how Muslims need to do "wudu" in order to come clean after God? Or is there a equivalent of modern age to be considered "unclean"?

    • @thisisjudith
      @thisisjudith Год назад +9

      Not dumb at all, that’s a very good question.
      In the laws God gave Moses for the Israelites, some food, clothing, bodily fluids and living and dead people could be considered “unclean” or “unholy”. If anyone touched that which was unclean, they were considered unclean as well (Leviticus chapters 11 - 15)
      As a general rule of thumb, unclean things or people could not be in the presence of God, and so the Jews avoided it at all costs possible. This is why when we watch episode 4, the man who touches the woman with the issue of blood got mad at her and said he had to go and purify himself.
      The problem is that like many other laws God gave, many Jews missed the point. They were so focused on this rule keeping that they forgot the greater virtues of love. They ill-treated people like non-Jews (who they said were uncircumcised hence unclean) and people with leprosy. God wasn’t simply being legalistic when He gave these rules. He was looking at the bigger picture. God wants us to be holy just as He is holy.
      We know that Jesus fulfilled the law, so now we’re no longer under the law (Romans 10:4, Galatians 3:13, basically all of Hebrews lol) So now, we are to be spiritually clean (holy) which is only possible through Christ. Because think about it, the law was only given to make us conscious of our sin (Romans 3:20). No one could keep all those purity laws perfectly. The law is basically a mirror we look into to see that we can’t save ourselves by keeping all those rules, because breaking even one rule means breaking all (James 2:10)

    • @thisisjudith
      @thisisjudith Год назад +2

      I’m not familiar with the Ecclesiastes food passage.
      Also, I guess you could say the purification processes are similar to wudu in concept, though I don’t know if muslims have to do it every time they pray regardless of whether or not they touched something “unclean”.
      The modern day equivalent to not being clean is not being holy in God’s eyes (aka not accepting Christ because it is only through Him we can be holy).
      Jesus lets us know it’s not what goes into a man that defiles him but what comes out of his heart. God ultimately doesn’t care about habitual rituals and rules. God wants our whole heart. Just like how a time has come where we worship not in temples but in spirit and truth, a time is here when it’s not about physical objects that make us ‘clean’ or ‘unclean’ but it’s about the spiritual sin that so easily entangles, and whether we will allow Christ to transform our hearts.
      God bless!

    The Almighty GOD and His eternal Word and acts do not get “proven” by us. There is nothing man can do, make, think, be or imagine that can prove or disprove THE ALMIGHTY GOD. Who are we? His perfect work stands alone. May it be revealed to us what and who HE is in our low place and may we know that every act, thought, and plan He has has already been proven since they come from Truth, they are truth and they cannot be otherwise . He IS Truth. Now it is up to us to acknowledge that Truth of everything He is and to receive it.

    I just feel bad for all the Christians that slander this show like it isn't sticking to scripture, with obvious "creative license" that every source of media uses seeing as how we know Jesus brushed His teeth but the scripture didn't see it fit to have it detailed anywhere and exclamation points definitely show Jesus used tone too lol. He was God but He was also man. The bible teaches that and this show does such an awesome job at that portrayal. I pray the Lord keeps using the whole crew, process, and support of this show because it's a pretty good Gospel tract in my opinion lol.

    Great link to Romans 8! I agree with you that this episode of Chosen could be the best so far. I think this also links with the Trinity because Jesus didn't know who touched him, so God the Father or the Holy Spirit must have healed the woman. That's my theory anyways, I could be mistaken.

    I enjoy this series, but don't feel that it is biblically accurate....especially with the dialogue and character liberties that the writers take to make the show more watchable. If you truly want to know the REAL Jesus, and the REAL characters and events of the bible, then READ the bible. This series is a springboard to get people interested in Christianity and hopefully to read scripture the way God intends us to.

      I walked away from watching The Chosen at the beginning and then the Lord led me back to it which I'm glad he did. This series has blessed me so much. There are some liberties taken to help explain scriptural things to those who have not read the Bible and to show the humanity of Christ and his disciples. These things were left out in other biblical movies which may have been more scriptural but were as cold as ice. I have read so many wonderful testimonies of people who have received Christ as their Lord and Savior from this series and those whose hearts have been softened and changed.
