- The camera keeps rolling for first thoughts, which usually means chaos. The Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro 2 is a crazily rockered shoe with a huge midsole designed for quick turnover on race day. Definitely improved over the first version but we gotta get more miles for the full review.

We run legit miles in our shoes and provide honest, no BS reviews of running shoes, running gear, and running races.
Literally everything is cool when we start filming and then it all goes to hell, but the number one rule of First Thoughts videos is: Don't stop the camera. So this is what you get.
Incredible work!
cool
Thomas’ jaws look great.
He got it reset?! New Dentures maybe?
The shoe pass! Over the shoulder…well done!
I'm a normal US9.5 and got the v1 in US10 and it fits perfectly. I got these true to size in US9.5 and they fit perfectly so Mizuno have fixed the sizing issue. My pair weighed in with left shoe at 212.1g and right shoe at 212.4g. In comparison, my Alphafly 1s (US9.5) were 225.6g (left) and 220.8g (right) in the same size. My Wave Rebellion Pro v1 in US10 weighed 227g (left) and 225.5 (right). Weight wise I think they are right in the mix. Ride is amazing and they work better for me than my Alphafly 1s but everyone is different. I found v2 to be very aggressive. Both versions work well for me so I'm very satisfied with them. However, they are not stable due to their geometry so are best suited for road runs with smooth long turns vs a lot of switchbacks.
Which one would pick come race day? V1 or v2?
Any issues with your calf/achilles? I land fore/midfoot but I try to let my heel "kiss" the ground to avoid strains, don't know how that would work in these
@@TheMilesMatter Sorry for the late reply. At present, I'd pick v1 because I'm finding v2 a bit too aggressive for my running style. I can't imagine running a full marathon in v2. I think if you have a consistent foot strike and it hits the sweet spot then you are good but I tend to go further back in the heel as I tire. Surprisingly, I managed a half marathon PB in v1 with no issues but it could be that I was in strong running form at that particular time. Someone gave an a tennis racquet analogy which I found appropriate. v1 has a larger sweet spot and is more forgiving, v2 may be a tad faster but it has a smaller sweet spot so you have to be very disciplined with your foot strike the whole journey.
@@RossKempOnYourMum01 I've not run in v2 enough to say No but I had no issues with v1. I understand where you are coming from as that was a concern of mine too. I know as I run long I get tired and my form collapses and I end up heel striking more often so I probably wouldn't be good enough to use this shoe for a full marathon. I only used v1 for up to half marathon distance. I think v1 though would cause less of an issue than v2.

Interesting and thanks for the reply! I was dithering on buying a carbon infused shoe the last 48 hours and finally plumped for Adidas bostons instead. Just couldn't take the leap and go for the miszuno wave at that price when it's so unconventional.
Keep rollin' boys. Good stuff.
"How much rocker do you want on your running shoe?"
Mizuno: "yes."
Went to a shoe demo yesterday, but missed out on running in this shoe. The reps didn't bring enough. I tried it on after the run. Unstable to walk in, and it put pressure on my arch. The shoe seemed to run a bit small. I went up half a size.
When the chaos in the video matches the shoe
did you try the flash 2?
Have it. Haven’t tried it yet.
Interesting. Have the v1 and it' s a great ride but the foam is not quite where the top foams of other companies are, and it could lose a bit of weight too...
Something suddenly struck me : where is Brandon? havent seen him around for a while , especially behind the camera
He moved to the west coast, so we have a new videographer (Karl)
I’m oddly attracted to this shoe as a mid-forefoot striker. I’d probably buy a pair at $200 or less.
Is this shoe as unstable as the OG Prime X? (No issues with PXS, but OG gave me a bad ankle sprain)
Not that crazy
Carbon Fiber is a cool material but it's thread. At best it's a really thin wash cloth. It's not stiff until you mix it with at least some kind of resin and cure it. So the purest carbon fiber in a shoe is still going to be 20% or so plastic resin. And it's not that expensive anymore. So, if the purest possible version of carbon fiber was the best thing to put in a shoe there's no reason not to. Presumably they're using these other material blends because the 80% carbon fiber matrix is incredibly stiff and brittle. Stiffer than steel or titanium stiff. As a marketing term apparently there's still cachet to be milked from it. But - yeah - no company is using a "pure carbon fiber plate."
Like to Thomas and Robbe. A nice friday for everyone.
This is gold 😂
Possibly the most intimidating looking shoe. So what's the other material of a carbon infused plate? Plastic? Also, you guys can just do another take if something is off in the first minute as far as traffic or noise.
We like the chaos
Looks like a nice version of the MBT boomer shoes
Contraband Shirt!
so it's 51mm in the landing area and 36mm in the forefoot?!
So a 15mm drop😅
@@woidmoasta4673 yikes
The drop is 1.5
Funny one to watch 😂
Robbe is a comedian😂
My size sold out in minutes and won't be back in stock until March. May end up just skipping because of the supply issue. Sorry Mizuno
Robbe seemed a little shook by what ever was happening with the van, life on the mean streets of Bal di more!
"I don't know what to call that" 😂 How about top and bottom layer like you've been calling it? Haha
The Japanese on the shirt means tsunami
You two 😂😂😂😂
can these 2 be any more annoying tho?
Lmao this alley busy as f
Not sure i run fast enough to justify this thing 😂
Did you try the rebellion flash 2?
We just got it but have yet to run in it
