The rules of the tourney literally state not to exploit bugs, like, tf is this response, its perfectly reasonable for the players to be punished for doing this.
Riot just needs to take more responsibility for releasing a broken map/game/feature. Think about it, Riot has many QA people who's sole JOB is to make sure maps and gameplay are clean and buttoned up. Those QA people, gave sign off at some point and approved it to go live for the world to play and use. Maybe something happened that rushed them but aside that point. If a pro team of gamers who's JOB is to win, discover something to help them win. Is it the QA teams fault for not finding? or a testament to the level of skill the pro's have in discovering it?
Yes the bug existing is riots fault but it's clearly a bug giving players an unfair advantage. This is a sport and there are rules that clearly state that tactics like these are illegal. This isn't a grey area like with the olofboost in cs:go. Abusing a one way texture is a text book exploit..
it doesn't even have anything to do with map design. A map design is basically it's layout and stuff. This is missing texture since the creator doesn't expect it's being use. If a map has a spot that you can see the enemy but the enemy can't see you unintentionally, it's a bug.
They just salty. If you find a good Cypher spot on a new map, it just shows youre keeping track of the game and keep adapting. Also, this is rather Riots mistake not listing it as forbidden.
Correct, a bug is something that is happening differently than intended. Cypher is literally being cypher. If it was able to placed there in the game, it’s working as intended. Guess someone cried enough and made themself the victim and won the battle.
The small gap that the cam can see through is only visible on one side so the attackers couldn't see it. If the gap was untextured on both sides, then it's fair game.
Ok, I don’t actually think this was that bad, there are plenty of one-way cameras with cypher in games and they still can shoot it, just from different angles. It doesn’t even view a super important part of the map
in lower rank, yes, in pro plays it is. "I don’t actually think this was that bad, there are plenty of one-way cameras " Arguments: Just because they're plenty of one way cameras doesn't mean you should allow it. Just like they're tons of murderer and thieves, doesn't mean you should allow it. "cypher in games and they still can shoot it, just from different angles" Yes they can shoot it, but the camera would be deactivated/invisible before they can see the cameras. Which if you don't know about the bugs, and don't even expect it (since it's illegal) you wont shoot it. "It doesn’t even view a super important part of the map" If a site entrance isn't important then what is?, this exploits allows cypher to not peek a entrance and waste utilities, which is super important. Basically you can't bait utilities and stuff since you have the camera. You can't wait for picks since he know if you push. Basically making a site either all in or not at all which limits lots of play like fake, getting pick, and etc.
i mean considering the texture shows on the other side of the wall blocking the cam you can tell it’s not intended and riot just didn’t add the texture on the back of that area. maybe riot thought you couldn’t get a cam there or something but shouldn’t be hard for them to just add the texture to fix it lol
Dawn is just probably salty that he lost. :> It's 2 maps to 1, it's not like you guys only lost in breeze. A bug is a feature any team can exploit until it's fixed, it's not the teams fault that you didn't know about this and it's clearly not their fault for Riot's map design.
The cam doesn't even spot them until they're already entering site and he blames the whole BO3 loss on it. Yeah I bet that .3 of a second earlier intel won them the whole game on a map that takes like 20 seconds to rotate on
While I think the speed of decision-making is up for improvement, the punishment VGIA got is actually reasonable. They lost their next matchup after that fated game, so setting up a rematch or reversing the results won't even matter. I don't know why some folks are asking for a reversal tbh.
How tho riot have been constantly making terrible maps with shit hit boxes giants tought they found a clever spot that wasn't crazy game breaking and to be punished for something you have no way of knowing is a bug until a official says it is. That's unfair
the problem here is that it's an abuse of a texture bug, you can see from the other side that the bit of the overhang the camera can see through is supposed to be a solid texture with no gap
8:36 Yes, it isn't entirely unavoidable when a bug first appears in a pro match, but cypher cam bugs have been around since beta and things like this need be solved for the sake of competitive play. Riot has notoriously been terrible at addressing or even acknowledging game ruining bugs and its so frustrating when they appear in pro play after months of complaints from the community. Not even a week ago, Vandiril released a video on a well documented bug that had been completely ignored by riot appearing in a pro League of Legends match which resulted in a long pause and eventual game rewind. The previous occurrence was only a month before that, resulting in a full remake of the match. It seems that players are repeatedly being punished for riots incompetence and will continued to be until enough of a fuss is made by the community.
Sure but at the same time how hard is it to not hide the camera behind a buggy texture? Like these are pro players a bit of professionalism and sportsmanship is to be expected, no?

How you gonna punish a team for using something that’s built into that game. Makes no sense and riot needs to step up and fix their game instead of blaming the players for using something that’s part of the game
I agree that riot need to fix these bugs. But we as players know these are bugs. (Like the super jett dashes) but as a pro who said "Yes Riot I will not use bugs in tournaments", it becomes a matter of using bugs even though you said you weren't going too.
A bug is something that is not built into the game, hence the name bug. The 1 way cam is not the way the cam is supposed to function and taking advantage of the game is against the rules. Just like in physical sports, there are rules saying you cant circumnavigate the rules.
Valorant made such a bad map that they're banning people for playing it smart. The camera is just elevated at an angle, it is not a glitch or an exploit.
Theres no bug or coding issue with a oneway or wall, they work normally. The cam isn't just a one-way based off of a weird angle, its a texture bug, something not intended in the code. Its not that hard to understand.
For those saying its not a bug in a non sarcastic way: You put a camera in a position where the camera is not seen, but because of a texture bug the camera is able to see through a solid object. I'ts a text book definition of bug/exploit.
I remember watching this map thinking why the hell they didn't shoot the cypher cam because it was used in the same spot several times they must know where it was but see it from attackers angle shows that this is just a straight up one way cypher cam that is incredibly broken.

a bug shouldnt be bannable unless its game breaking, something like god mode or infinite dmg. if the bug is easily recreatable its part of the game in competative, thats how its always been. players will and should always use what they can to get a 1up and shouldnt be punished for that, its on the devs not the players.
that boost punishment is fucking dumb too, are you joking? if you dont want people to do that shit then make the wall push you to the side rather than allow a mechanic to boost????
and that contract wording is 100% illegal and people should sue for that. leaving it up to the company, NO MATTER WHAT, is one sided and in the US thats illegal in contracts. so theoretically someone could jump a wierd way or peak a wierd way and riot could force them to lose. now, they may not use it that way but the wording allows it. if they dont want lawyers up their ass later and a more balanced scene they need to have more specific checks on their end in the wording.
The Olof boost was an iconic moment, yea, but it was also ruled illegal and they were told to replay the match. And that was only because the other team was found to also be using an illegal boost during their CT side
Riot should setup a way for teams to verify whether a trick is legal or not before the match actually happens. If Riot says yes, go ahead and use it to your hearts content.
Wonder if they should take maps off of every team that exploited the Split glitch in vents? Literally every player exploited the floor glitch. Even in pro games and it was exactly like that map bug
So pro's aren't allowed to use cross map wall bangs with Odin/Ares as well? For example: The Ascent map "mid market" to "mid tiles" wall bang or the Haven map "A-link to A-sewers/short" wall bang? Or are those not considered bugs as well b/c it's a map oversight like this breeze map oversight?

People should be expecting this, game has skills and you need to maximize the use of it. Vodafone Giants just used the skill that the character has and it should be legal
The spot would be legal, the issue Is that when you look towards the entrance there is a broken texture that you can see through, while the people coming in can't
Tbh yes, they weren't able to see the cam but 1. even if they were be able to, they wouldn't have checked the spot in the first place and 2. If the cam was in another position, Giants would still have the same information.
It doesn't look in the clip like a bug that either sees through supposedly solid textures, or requires some unintended mechanic to overcome limits on what geometry cams can be placed on. But some youtube comments say it's both so who's to say
Man.... I want my LAN days back. I have actually never received fraud and cheating calls in my whole life than I have witnessed in this one year. Honestly, my belief on the E-sport loyalty is dying!
Bugs can be interpreted as basically things that are not working as intended. In this case, there's something wrong in the texture where the crack is visible only on the cam's pov enabling a 1-way which is basically an exploit. A bug exploit. Riot is at fault for not seeing this coming but it is also the player's fault for exploiting. Traditional 1 way smokes are smokes where the advantage are on those who made them and have gaps from both attacking and defending sides. This one has only one
whats the difference between a good cypher cam and a bugged cam . im a cypher main and i use a few cams like that so i dont know if i am exploiting bugs or what
That isn’t an exploit though, it works like a one-way smoke, since you can see that the cam only sees the players feet, that’s why the attackers can’t see it, no way no one has realized this yet
no, it's using a bugged/incomplete texture. This is more like the bug with Cypher's camera on the teleporter doors. Where it breaks world geometry. Oneways, while cheap, still cost resources to pull off. This shit's just free and has no counterplay. You can counter oneways with mollies or suppressive fire. *Camera can't get spotted, Cypher can't get spotted, you have zero counterplay because they just let their crackhead Jett onetap with vandal.*
@@thetorzin4914 you really are missing the point...... the camera cant be seen while they can be seen which means even though the camera can see the players they cant shoot the camera which means it is a bug.
Doesn't seem like a bug. Seems like bad map design which is a common theme in this game. Don't blame the team taking advantage of your shitty map
The thing is the team that used it didn't even knew about that missing texture and thought it was just gap that goes both ways lmao
it doesn't even have anything to do with map design. A map design is basically it's layout and stuff. This is missing texture since the creator doesn't expect it's being use.
If a map has a spot that you can see the enemy but the enemy can't see you unintentionally, it's a bug.

I feel like there's a big difference between just a good Cypher cam spot and a cam spot that the enemy literally cannot see
Facts bro
Get 2-1'd already
Cry all they want about the cypher cam but they can clearly see the projectile the cam launches to tag someone
That’s funny. It’s not the players fault and it shouldn’t be called a “bug”
it is a bug but your right its not the players fault
yeah there are worse cypher cams. this seems fine and overvalued
You are right. It's an exploit and isnt exploiting still against the rules?
"I don’t actually think this was that bad, there are plenty of one-way cameras "
Arguments: Just because they're plenty of one way cameras doesn't mean you should allow it. Just like they're tons of murderer and thieves, doesn't mean you should allow it.
"cypher in games and they still can shoot it, just from different angles"
Yes they can shoot it, but the camera would be deactivated/invisible before they can see the cameras. Which if you don't know about the bugs, and don't even expect it (since it's illegal) you wont shoot it.
"It doesn’t even view a super important part of the map"
If a site entrance isn't important then what is?, this exploits allows cypher to not peek a entrance and waste utilities, which is super important. Basically you can't bait utilities and stuff since you have the camera. You can't wait for picks since he know if you push.
Basically making a site either all in or not at all which limits lots of play like fake, getting pick, and etc.
How does one set up that cam? I'm asking for a friend o.o

How tho riot have been constantly making terrible maps with shit hit boxes giants tought they found a clever spot that wasn't crazy game breaking and to be punished for something you have no way of knowing is a bug until a official says it is. That's unfair
new map, new spots just because no one makes an updated guide for cypher doesn't mean the other team gets right to call the spot as a bug.
the problem here is that it's an abuse of a texture bug, you can see from the other side that the bit of the overhang the camera can see through is supposed to be a solid texture with no gap
What about vivo keyd?
@@zwenkwiel816 Thing is, short of actually cheating its the players job to do anything and everything that the game allows to win. @OnlyFatSnapz 100% agreed
Wait how about the sage walls that make is so you can have a one way? is that a bug too? or even smoke one ways???
The cam is a “one way” cause it can see through part of the wall. That’s why it’s a bug.
Theres no bug or coding issue with a oneway or wall, they work normally. The cam isn't just a one-way based off of a weird angle, its a texture bug, something not intended in the code. Its not that hard to understand.
For those saying its not a bug in a non sarcastic way:
You put a camera in a position where the camera is not seen, but because of a texture bug the camera is able to see through a solid object.
