    Hi Hanna , I enjoyed your epic video ! As usual you did well. I hope you are able to get 2 1981 classics Tom Verlaine " Dreamtime " & Echo & The Bunnymen " Heaven Up Here " ! That Kinks " Low Budget " is a great live album. I saw that tour & they opened with " You Really Got Me " Ray Davies proclaiming " This Is Our Fu**ing Song !! " The Kinks & Blur , 2 very 🇬🇧 Bands ! Get Happy 😊 & me , I'm all smiles I got my crocodiles.. 🎸

      Hi David! Thanks for your kind words on my video, as always. I hold on tight to that Crocodiles LP I found! I hope I find Heaven Up Here at the Omaha June record show...if record shows will be up and running again then! Nobody knows at this point. I have Tom Verlaine's first solo album, but not any others. I was about to get Dreamtime at the Quimper store, but I was hoping to find it at a better price later on. I won't snooze next time! Hope you are well!

    This makes me miss record stores so much! The Byrds in mono was a great find. I love all those 60's garage rock bands too. The t shirts you picked up were great. I can't wait for all this to be over so I can get back out there. Great video!

      Thanks Melinda! Unbelievably I was able to pick up 3 mono Byrds albums on this last trip. I was so excited because all I had were stereo versions and had never even run across mono before! Yes, it really will be nice for things to get back to normal...hopefully in a few months. Catch ya later!

    Great tour and showcase Hanna Wonderful you got this tour in before they all closed down for awhile. You’re stocked up for the time being with music. Plus those years of Shocking Blue songs 🤓😎. Love this one.

      Thanks, Mazzy! Only time I was in Seattle for this visit was the airport. It was kind of a scary time to be there because that's when they were saying that was the epicenter of the virus. I'm indeed plenty stocked. You live in the best state for record shopping...hands down! Made it down to Portland, too. It's only a 2-hour drive from where Bo lives. That video will be soon. Stay well.

    Hi Hannah !- Great video of many interesting record stores. I agree that The Who Sell Out is a great album, but for some reason it always gets over looked when great Who albums are mentioned. You said that it looked like Pete Townshend on the cover of Thunderclap Newman. I believe it's his brother Simon who played on the album. The Them lp Them Again, I was fortunate to pick up a tag sale, 6 or 7 years ago for $1. Sometimes tag sales have their advantages. Keep up the interesting videos and stay well.

    • @TheOmahaIntrovert
      @TheOmahaIntrovert  4 года назад

      Hi Alan! I'm not sure why Who Sell Out always gets the shaft. Maybe people don't like the jingles in between the songs. There are so many brilliant songs on it, though! Oh, is that Simon T. on the cover of that Thunderclap Newman? Would explain the resemblance to Pete! :-) Whoa, you got a killer deal on Them Again years ago! Those deals don't really exist anymore! Thank you for watching and be safe.

    When you flip through the records in the record stores you visit, it's always interesting to see which German / German- language albums made the long way to the USA. In this video for example I discovered Alphaville's synthpop classic "Forever Young" and Falco's debut Einzelhaft.

    Who doesn’t love to look at the walls. Walls make us drool and wish. Walls make us safe for a trip and hope that we can score well. My last visit to a record store , beside my local guy, I spent $200 off the wall. So much good stuff. I was going to put some back but then thought I have not seen this in the wild in all my year so what the heck. I asked for a volume discount and got it. You definitely got a lot of stuff to enjoy.

    Funnily enough, Bo was the one who generously sent me a copy of The Leaves album years ago. Nice to see you got a copy too...... I am keeping an eye on a copy of Wild Thing, by The Troggs, which is sitting at a record store over here. Now, I have to wait until I am able to go there again...... Cool t-shirt from Rainy Day....My eyes just did pop up when I saw The Bachs displayed at the Rainy Day store. Wow! Lots of goodies there.... Them Again, Sell Out stereo, Standells, wow!... Loved the record store footages too.... Amazing stuff, Hanna. Best, Nelio.

    Hi Hanna,
    Thank goodness for these videos like people like you, Miss LadySoul and Mazzy to keep us amazed with their vinyl finds. Nice finds. I see that the video that showed the Dennis Wilson Pacific Ocean Blue. That is a desert island disc. If ever you have a chance to see it again grab it. It is awesome. Every song is gorgeous. Very talented.... and very much in the shadow of his genius brother Brian. The Byrds.... will need to pick up some Byrds for I own nothing. I had the chance to watch the documentary "Echo in the Canyon' and they are all over that doc. It is well done. You should check it out. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.
    Please keep safe and enjoy all those new audio goodies.

      Hey Tino! I would have loved to have picked up that Dennis Wilson album, but it was $50. It was probably an original copy. I have trouble spending that much on a single album. • @BarakaPDub

    So much to comment on this one but man, I loved the footage at the end and the background music you chose was awesome. Where did you find the tunes? Love the background to Rocket Records and Bobs. Man oh man, I would have liked hiking up around there but I bet it's not good after a good rain.
    I still can't believe those 'Them' finds. I've never seen a 'Them' album in the wild and honestly, that's when I like Van Morrison the most. I definitely get why you like Rainy Day records so much. It seems like there's a lot of good stuff packed into a small space. Never heard of MagnaPop before. I didn't know that Tacoma had a Drastic Plastic. I thought that was strictly a Nebraska thing. I've never heard much from the Standells outside of Dirty Water. Nice pick up there. Hi-Voltage would have easily gotten me in trouble. Just some of the stuff you were flipping through had me drooling. Very nice DM single scores. I wouldn't have pass up on those either. And then you had to show the Byrds ;)
    BTW - If you like that SInatra album, try Sinatra at the Sands. It's a great set with Count Basie as his backing band.

    • @TheOmahaIntrovert
      @TheOmahaIntrovert  4 года назад

      Hey Paul! Ah yes, I've been meaning to get Sinatra at the Sands. Thanks for reminding me! Glad you liked the backing music I chose. Honestly, I just found it in RUclips's audio library. When I first started doing the trip videos I was using music from bands/artists I loved, but that's proved to be more challenging with the copyright issues. Every time I wanted to use a song, it was blocked. It was taking too much time. So, now I just use ones I like from their audio library. I search for rock and usually find some decent ones.
      I ran plenty in the rain on a nearby trail in Washington, but other trails in WA just get too muddy after rain.
      I'm with you - I like Van in Them the most, too. This was the second time I've seen Them records. The first time was at a record show last fall in Washington, but it was a French or some foreign pressing of Them Again, I believe. It was $80!
      When I first went to Drastic Plastic last year I was like, wait a minute! This is in Nebraska! I talked to the owner who assured me that his Drastic Plastic was first and he wasn't fond of the Omaha one stealing his name. I don't know what's true because I didn't look more into it. Now the Omaha Drastic Plastic is just a record label: www.drasticplasticonline.com. Mostly punk reissues.
      Rainy Day is my #1 store. Simply incredible. Then Total Drag in Sioux Falls, SD is my #2! I'll take you to Portland, OR next! Thanks, Paul! :-)

    • @BarakaPDub
      @BarakaPDub 4 года назад

      @@TheOmahaIntrovert I'm going to have to look again at the RUclips library. I wrote it off a couple of years ago because I couldn't find anything I could really stand to use in a video. Sounds like they've got some new stuff out there that's on par with a premium audio library service.
      If it wasn't for Omaha's Drastic Plastic, I wouldn't have copies of the Damned ;) It's a bummer their store went under.

    • @mikeables
      @mikeables 4 года назад

      Hiking the Olympic P in the late Spring and Summer is world class. Don't worry about the rain, tons of trails are Nike friendly and the trees are your umbrella if the rain cloud pushes through. They just make the waterfalls more lively.

    • @TheOmahaIntrovert
      @TheOmahaIntrovert  4 года назад

      Yeah. There's still tons of cheesy stuff on there, so it takes plenty of sampling of the songs they have in the library before you find some decent ones. I have Drastic Plastic's reissue of the Damned's Machine Gun Etiquette album. Man, it sounds terrible. Sorry, Drastic Plastic. Lol. Hopefully yours sound better.

      @@TheOmahaIntrovert Very cool little town. We stayed the night there and then took the fairy to Oak Harbor Naval base for work. They had a lovely coffee shop there with this three-piece band (I can't say the same about the band) playing very loudly. My boss was smoking a cigar and was told he can't smoke so close to the building. Very interesting. A nice bar too that we visited while there. We spent the next two nights in Tacoma before heading to Seattle. I visited a record store in Seattle that was mostly metal music (I wish I knew the name), but that was before I was collecting again and I picked up just one record (Metallica Garage Days Re-revisited). Nice Townsend T -shirt. The Who Sell Out is a good price.ThunderClap Newman a good LP. Good that you found The Byrds in mono.The Pop power pop for sure. Nice video. We are two weeks into lockdown here in the UK, and having record shop withdrawal symptoms. So thanks for the virtual record flicking. You got some classics, Troggs, Them, Leaves, Standells, Byrds and The Who at good prices, good stuff. I would have jumped on The Knitters LP, love them, I have some 45's and at least one CD but no LP's. Glad to see you bought a copy of Entertainment, Gang of Four, another classic. You hit a sweet spot with me with the Laura Nyro, I am a massive fan and have most of her stuff. I starting buying her LP's in the late 1960's when a was a young teenager. I can recommend 'Christmas and the Beads of Sweat ' her 5th LP. You are the only other one I know who has that LP by The Pop. I have two of theirs and like you bought them blind back in 80's. Like to get a copy of Them's first album on Parrot, either the version you picked up, the hype sticker version which adds "Gloria", or the redesigned cover which says "The Original Hit GLORIA". As you probably know, the Shadows of Knight had the nationwide hit version of that song in 1966 because they removed a line "... and then she comes into my room" that got the original Them version banned on most radio stations in the Midwest and the East Coast. But it was a hit in the West Coast and even #1 for a few weeks in Los Angeles in 1965. I never heard the SOK version until I got a CD of their first original album on Sundazed.

    As always I am definitely tuned into the music that you listen to Hanna. Now was this the trip to Washington that you were talking about in one of the last two videos? I have watched you hit some amazing record stores but I forget what cities you hit. Now I swear to you that when I was looking at your description before the video started I thought that Port Townsend said Pete Townsend. So seeing you holding up the Port Townsend jersey from Quimper Sound Records with the one and only on the front was wild. Loved the look of Drastic Plastic. I love all Vintage Vinyl/Vintage Audio places. So I would have definitely hit up Bob's. Great to see you grabbed some Weller. Any of his solo albums are extremely tough to find around here. Except for all of the current reissues. Which sound great. Especially Stanley Road. Ah yes. A sealed J Richman Modern Lovers. Imagine they were selling it for $3.98 at Peaches. I would have bought them all at the time. Loved the outro. Enjoyed hanging with you Hanna. He's a British guy and really easy to talk to as well! I've never seen Weller's solo albums on vinyl. I will have to look into the reissues for sure. Great footage of the stores. Most of those stores seemed to have placed the records by genre only. I like them to be in alphabetical order as well. I was gonna say that there's a store here that has several Depeche Mode 12" singles until you mentioned the price. It seems the price is universal as they are here about 15€ too.
    I just visited two record stores today. Our record stores seem to be open though in various shapes. Some are open through post Service only, some have pick up (you order and then pick up from the store), some deliver to your home and some are open to public shopping. And of course unfortunately at least one has already closed business.

      Hi Pasi. Glad you liked the Washington state footage. A lot of the stores had the records sorted by genre and then alphabetical within the genre. It worked for me. At this moment, stores here in the states are shut down for customer foot traffic, but some offer free shipping, free delivery, or pick up. I'm sure there will be many that close permanently due to this, which is quite unfortunate and sad. Hoping we come out of this soon. Be well.

    Hi Hanna, I really enjoy these flipping through the records at various stores. How dare you casually flip past Mungo Jerry's fantastic debut album at Mossy Bottom! (just kidding). I always thought the US cover of EC's Get Happy was far better than the UK as we had the pretentious "ring wear" added to the sleeve. Nice to see the K-Tel Best Of Bowie in one of the stores and also Annabella Lwin's solo album (ex Bow Wow Wow) with some of the tracks produced by Jim Lea of Slade. All the best and keep safe, Richard

      Hanna, here in NYC if you don’t have a mask you won’t be allowed in the supermarket. We went to the pharmacy to but toothpaste, soap etc and only 3 persons are allowed at a time. We are going less and less to the supermarket. We are shopping I’m a small grocery store ? Two blocks away. I’m scared of someone coughing even with my mask. Strange, scary days. This is the norm for the rest of Speing, summer and perhaps Fall. Gee how will we handle more months on quarantine. I’m already getting frustrated. I miss so much. I was looking on Amazon to see if the films and vinyl I cancelled was available. Most items will take longer to arrive if I reorder. I’ll keep my eyes open for your video. Stay well Hanna. Good night.

"Laccent" by Freedom Trail Studio is playing to Drastic Plastic's footage. "Dusty Fingers" by DJ Williams is playing to the Hi-Voltage footage. Mine currently are the Sennheiser Urbanite XLs, for sheer bass and rock fun, and my Hifiman HE400Is, for sheer detail and upscale listening. To me they sound like if Beats were actually not bloated-bass sounding, and NOT thin, they are balanced and warm sounding with a solid, deep, tight bass response. And that's not even EQ'd. But the bass isn't bloated or annoying. The pads and fit are super comfortable, no tightness, for me anyway, the only issue is, the pads sometimes come loose...I used some
      electricians tape to keep 'em secured,
      and that's working for me. Grados
      are probably better for detail and
      audiophile applications, but of course,
      they are all-around great as well. My Hifimans lack that deep, tight bass,
