Very nice playing by the Russians.Purbayan does a very good job in teaching our old family sargam in Khamaj, however please note the excessive embellishments he is putting is NOT a part of our tradition. That is not the way allaudin khan taught my father! Listen to any khamaj by Ali all Akbar khan, pandit Ravi Shankar, vasant Rai, ashish khan of nikhil banerjee, and you will see what I am referring to. So learn the doctrinal material of the rag but be judicious in the excessive embellishments. Purbayan is a fantastic player and this is his personal style of playing
