    You may already know this but a lot of people will change those hose fittings on attachments so they cannot get them confused.
    They will either have a different size, different type, or different genders.
    Different genders is the best setup, It keeps you from getting the hoses mixed up, and when the backhoe or other attachment is disconnected from the tractor you can plug the hoses directly together to keep the fittings clean. You would still have to cap the two fittings on the tractor to keep them clean.

    Pete, that is nice. People who have backhoes with their tractor tell me they ended up using the backhoe more than what they thought they would. So, don’t be surprised if you use it more than you think. I thought you did a good job using the backhoe for the first time.

    Hey Pete,
    Appreciate the video and confirmed my personal opinion about a 3pt hitch backhoe. If I need a backhoe I'll buy a construction grade backhoe,trac-hoe or rent one. I like my farm tractor to much to abuse it with the backhoe.

    hey Pete. Good video and you did just fine for your first try. I would recommend slowing your rpm down at least 200 from where you are at or even lower. That will provide you with a much more manageable response from your controls until you get more comfortable. If I really saw what I think I did if it were me I would switch two of your controls so they match a typical backhoe. Yours looked like it was plumbed to match CAT controls in an excavator. I hope this brings you many many days of enjoyment and productive work.

    Good job on the video, I have the same backhoe been very pleased with it so far. You might want to change the fluid in your tractor now. I back flowed the the hydraulic fluid before hooking up the return line. The fluid that came out was black they must use some old waste oil to test with. Also I used the U channel that came with the shipping frame to make feet for the outriggers.

    Few things I had on the one I recently purchased. They still haven't fixed the hydraulic line hitting and getting damaged. Mine was broken as well. They claim it is shipping damage, but I don't see any way it would have been done during shipment. The dumb thing is, all you have to do is rotate the end of cylinder 180 and the lines are protected. I recommend you do it. It does make greasing that pin annoying as you have to position the leg is just the right spot to get access to it thru the hinge, but is much safer for the lines.
    One of spool valves leaks on mine, so waiting for a fix on that too. There are various other shipping damage or quality control issues, and I had to touch up paint is many areas. None of those prevented operation though. Had it for two weeks now and cannot use it due to the leaks.
    It is ridiculous they don't include shoes for the outriggers.
    I would really recommend you build a sub frame. Look at the way it twists the connection to the tractor. That cannot be good over time to the 3 point. Also the digging force is limited because the 3 point doesn't provide any down force. A frame would let it use the weight of the tractor.

    Slow your RPM's down to the lowest it takes to dig into what you are working on.. It will not jerk as much and will be much easier to learn the controls when things are not jerking around.. You can speed the RPM's up as you get smoother on the controls..
    Hint: You can run higher RPMs, and smooth out the controls, if you work both together... Example: As you swing left to dump, just before you get to your target left, start uncurling the bucket.. It spits the hydraulic flow from one ran to both, and both slow down slightly. I have a Terramite T5C.. After years of operating it, I still use these same rules of thumb, and most people consider me an artist with the backhoe.. Using both controls at once is what gives you the smooth movements.. Most units are matched and you can actually do very nice work with them.. I added a 3' scraper blade to my bucket with wrapper chains, and I use it to level out things and cut clean edges... Have fun with the new toy/tool.. Ha..

    Looks like you need a hydraulic flow control valve to keep the controls smooth. I just ordered one on Amazon for $45, 8gpm max, plus fittings, to keep the flow at 5-7gpm. I have the BK-175, recommended flow 5-7gpm. My Dingo is 11.3gpm, and causes all sorts of consternation with the attachment. The throttle has to be below 2000 rpm to get the GPM low enough.

    Good job Pete. I saw you taking some deep breathes before you moved the bucket. That's ok. Just relax. Little advice. Tighten up that three point so it doesn't rock back and forth. Curl your front bucket down and raise your front wheels off the ground. Put your out riggers down all the way to raise your back wheels off the ground. You will have a much more stable platform to work from. Find a place on your property where you can move dirt back and forth in one spot so you don't have to move the tractor. Practice. I work for the public works dept and that is how I learned. Make sure your 3 point and those pins are capable of holding the weight of the tractor. If one of those pins were to fail or come out that could be fatal. Danger, Danger!

    Very nice setup. I would be careful with the stresses this hoe puts on your tractor being on a 3 point hitch. There is a reason that the backhoe attachment from the factory (Mahindra) was a lot more money. If you take notice all of the factory units have a sub frame mounted to the tractor and the hoe attaches to it rather than the 3 point hitch. This is done to avoid the major twisting stresses that can happen to the back end of the tractor body. With minor use it may not be an issue but depending on the amount of breakout force this backhoe has, one tree stump removal attempt could be very expensive if you twist the tractor body.

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading
      @petebeasttexashomesteading  5 лет назад +2

    Appreciate the video but I don't think these are even available anymore. Granted this is 5 years later. They are no longer on the Titan website. The only thing you can get is the manual. Three point backhoes are not a problem when used properly and within the design limitations. They aren't designed for much more than light trenching or small excavation jobs. The problems start when those limitations are exceeded. Most don't understand the forces well enough to know where that limit is and thus they get a bad rap.

  • @TF856
    @TF856 5 лет назад +1

    You should have gotten a frame mounted attachment instead of a 3 point mounted attachment. The frame mounted atachment is a lot more stable and definitely less jerky.

      The engine has a big Holly carb, Torquer spider intake manifold, big thumpy cam, and powder coated headers. I have some videos on it here: ruclips.net/video/5oVzfSEMpcc/видео.html and here: ruclips.net/video/GFGTaJnP328/видео.html I have the original seats and steering wheel and extra parts, manuals, and book that will go with it. I'm asking $35,000 and I'm nigotialable.

    Bought one of these from Titan. With less than a hour of use I screwed up the linkage for the three point on my Mahindra 5570. Very disappointed. Going to sell it.

      I've used mine a lot in my hard red clay soil and have had no problems with it. I wish I could mount it to the frame but it is a light duty back hoe.

    PTO BackHoes are hard on a tractor without tractor frame or a backhoe sub- frame.

    That things moved alot when the main arm did. Are u looking into fixing that or is it just user error?

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading
      @petebeasttexashomesteading  6 лет назад

      mitchell berg I think that's because it's a 3 point attachment and not connected to the frame like the bigger backhoes plus the lever is very sensitive.

      Pete B. I’ve been on the fence about purchasing this exact unit. Just like you, I can’t justify the extra 9k for the unit sold by Kioti but I did buy the subframe. The sales rep told me it will mount to the subframe, what’s your opinion on that? Also, my tractor is only 35hp. Will that be enough for this unit? Thank you for the video btw, great job!!

      Hey Greg, did you end up buying this unit? Also, since it is made to be 3-point hitch mounted, how was it hooking it up to a sub frame? Would love to see a video of that. Thanks in advance.

    Pete, who is "Matt Ward"? That guy has a clone of most of your content over on his channel. His site looked sort for sketchy since he didn't even have an "About." Methinks he's an "international man of mystery."

      RUclips on Mozilla Firefox does not not permit pasting into comments and RUclips removed the direct message capability. Try searching for any of your titles such as "My bike pusher project." His videos will be listed under his name. Curiously, searching under Matt Ward only shows the army fitness guy, but the other Mike Ward is definitely still there and with a whole bunch of your videos.

    hay that is the same one i bring into Canada from China less the name on it for resale along with many other attachments, cheap. dont for get to refill your tractor hydraulic tank part way getting the air out and again after a few hours work as it will be low, failing to do so you will starve your pump of oil and burn it up, it may not show right away but the pump will fail sooner then it should, they dont hold much oil as it is, so any time you add a new hydraulic attachment stop part way and refill, make sure you use the right oil for your tractor or your drives will stop working and will not work again until you drain it all and put in the right stuff. you can also order the hook up that dont use the 3 point. tip you can run more then one leaver at the same time makes for a nice smooth flow

  • @TF856

    I hope you can tell by watching the video of yourself how much looser that backhoe is from the tractor!
    Very seriously!!!
    Look how much slop there is between the backhoe and the tractor!!!
    That is actually shaking like crazy because it's not rigidly mounted to the tractor!
    That makes it a whole lot harder to operate!!!
    A lot of similar tractors have a top link that is not rigid! Many tractors have a sensor on that top link that helps to adjust draft control when you're pulling a plow or something similar!
    You need to hook that top link to something that is rigid on the back of the tractor, because it looks like that's where most of your slop is coming from.
    Besides, if you're only going to be digging holes to put plants in or post holes you should have gotten a post hole digger, they are a lot cheaper and a lot easier to use!

    Sorry to be the bear of bad news, but tractor mounted backhoes like this are a joke....was glad the day I sold mine. Under powered, cumbersome to use (unlike a real backhoe where the seat simply flips around, you have to climb out of the tiny seat, climb on the tractor and move it a couple feet, climb back in the backhoe), tend to break things on the 3pt if not subframe mounted, and so on. Notice the clips on the boom and stabilizers ? That is because the cheap things leak down almost from day one.....they HAD to put them on there so you wouldn't notice as much. You set it off the tractor and forget one, and you'll come back to a collapsed unit laying on it's side....I used to chain mine up to a beam in the storage shed when removed, so it wouldn't be laying on the floor next time I wanted to use it.....ahahahahaaa.
    Money would be better spent to rent a real backhoe from time to time for projects, or do what I did....buy a used excavator in the 8-10,000lb range.

      Ed Smith I knew what I was getting when I bought this. That's why I said it's a light duty backhoe and I'll use it now and then. I can't justify spending $10,500 or more on a backhoe that I'll only use occasionally.
