Two weeks ago I assisted surgery on a gentleman who had been riding his bike like the gentleman at 4:28 - 4:31. He eventually died from the massive b.f.t. that could've easily been avoided had his helmet been on his head instead of his fuel tank. Darwin award, I guess...

That comment went 0-100-0 I don't even know where to go on it. In my opinion no respect for authority is good in areas where the authority is bullshit laws restricting freedom. If there is no victim, there is no crime, in my opinion. But legally this is not always so - the laws of man want to ticket you for doing anything outside the "norm" AKA anything outside the controllable. If they can't control you they do their best to kill you or ticket you so bad that you can't afford to do anything but live within the controllable realms.
On the other hand, I'd consider myself to be conservative/right-wing and really support the officers out there saving lives and protecting the people. But these days, you find more bad cops (AKA cops out for profit or out to hurt people who are having fun) than you do good cops. I respect firefighters and EMT/Paramedics/First Responders more than cops these days.
Then don't go crying to the cops when someone opens there door when your in and out of traffic.

Actually, while that applies to civilians, cops are authorized to use different levels of force on a person depending on the crime that is suspected. If it is simply a moving violation, they can't do much but take down plates and video, then go knocking on doors later.
If a chase goes on for a long time, i.e. the guy doesn't manage to get away, they will eventually be authorized to use force to stop the vehicle.
