  • Welcome to my review of the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25, the 35th iteration of ASICS' most comfortable daily trainer ever.
    \\details
    Price - $160/£175

    Weight - 11.3 oz/319g (men’s US 11/UK 10)
    Drop - 8 mm (heel: 30 mm/forefoot: 22 mm) (Gel-Nimbus 24 had a 10 mm drop, and a lower max stack height of 26mm)
    \\what’s the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25?
I adored the Gel-Nimbus 24 when it came out in January 2022. It was comfortable beyond measure, and I used it quite a lot in the first half of the year for training. So when I got wind of the Gel-Nimbus 25 launch, I jumped on the opportunity to test the shoes as soon as possible. ASICS claims the Gel-Nimbus running shoes are the most comfortable running shoe money can buy, and I think they aren’t wrong.
The shoes have been completely revamped, which initially made me slightly concerned, as I loved the predecessor so much, I was worried the new shoes wouldn’t be as captivating as those. Thankfully I was wrong. The updates are:
    - New PureGEL™ technology, which is softer than previous GEL technology. The PureGEL isn’t visible from the outside (as the Gel used to be); it’s now integrated into the midsole.
    - 20% more foam compared to previous iterations. The FF BLAST PLUS ECO foam is made from at least 20% bio-based material from renewable sources, such as leftover waste from sugar case processing.
    - The knit tongue and collar construction are also new. The tongue, in particular, is stretchy and soft. It’s said to deliver a more adaptive fit, helping the shoe to feel like an extension of the foot and making each stride more comfortable and smooth.
    - Also new is the AHAR LO outsole
    \\4 things I like
More foam=better for the joints and leg preservation. The new Gel-Nimbus 25 is taller and more voluminous than its predecessor and feels extremely soft on the feet. It reminds me of max-cushioned shoes without actually being one. For comparison, the New Balance Fresh Foam X More v4 has a 34 mm stack height and the Hoka Bondi 8 tops at 39.5 mm.
More sustainable than before: from a material point of view, the Gel-Nimbus 25 is more sustainable than ever before. At least 75% of the shoe's main upper material is made with recycled content. Additionally, the sockliner is produced with the solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to the conventional dyeing technology. Finally, the FF BLAST PLUS ECO foam is made from at least 20% bio-based material from renewable sources, such as leftover waste from sugar case processing.
Looks trendier than the Gel-Nimbus 24: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I hope we can all agree that the Gel-Nimbus 25 looks better than the 24. The new knit upper, colours, the shape of the midsole and the contour finally make the Gel-Nimbus look like a proper modern trainer. Better still, it looks better without compromising on running performance, which is my favourite thing.
Most importantly, despite the overhaul, the Gel-Nimbus 25 looks and feels like Gel-Nimbus through and through. The shape is almost identical, and the running dynamics are quite similar - it’s a familiar experience while also feeling fresher and newer. Only ASICS can pull something like this off.
    \\1 things I don’t like
As lovely as the shoes are, I think some of the energy return was lost since the previous iteration. The new foam and the PREGEL feel softer and squishier than before, which is excellent for comfort but not so much for helping you move forward. It takes away from the versatility of the shoes, even though I don’t think anyone used the Gel-Nimbus 24 for tempo training. It’s a bit too squishy, which hurts energy returns - that’s all.

It's awesome that Asics is supporting a small creator like you. I bet they saw the quality of your videos and know you'll be big

I bought the gel nimbus 25 Platinum colour way a few days ago. Absolutely love them! Design is fantastic. They look absolutely mint! And they are so damn comfortable. Like walking on marshmallows 👍👍👍

is it more comfortable than more v4?

Both are very comfortable. You get more foam with the NB, but the upper is more comfortable on the ASICS

You might want to double check your stack heights. It’s listed at 41.5 mm in the heel and 33.5 mm in the forefoot. It’s definitely a max stack trainer. 😂

Well the 30 mm doesn’t include the insoles and rubber. ASICS does list their stack heights different than other brands. Either way it’s a max stack shoe and has more stack than the More v4.

Your dislike is the reason I would buy this shoe.

Didn't get the watch the entire review. How's the sizing run? I wore 12 2e in the 24th version.
