The way that people like you and David Damek (Plasmo on RUclips) are constantly pushing the bounds of modelling is incredible, Tom. That model is sensational.
My "gods of modeling" playlist has more than hundred youtubers now, there are people even better than Tom and Plasmo here. Check some Asian youtubers, lots of them get overlooked since they do not use english but their models and dioramas blows everything else out of the water.
Absolutely outstanding Tom. It scarcely seems possible considering previous projects but you’ve excelled yourself with the rigging on this one. As ever, thank you for allowing us to follow your journey.
The sails! And all of that rigging in your usual magical approach. This ship and diorama are absolutely stunning. Thanks for making such a wonderful set of videos.
It goes without saying that what you build is incredible. The video and the stop motion also adds to the viewing pleasure. Thanks for sharing your amazing work. You are an inspiration to all modellers
Tom, ein sehr schönes Video. Die Takelage ist Dir super gelungen, die Segel sehen absolut realistisch aus. Das Dio ist ein (nicht kleines) Meisterwerk. Tolle Handwerkskunst.
Hmmm...Some of my subscribers call me a 'Master Modeller', yet watching this makes me realise I am not even fit to shine your shoes Tom! I doff my hat and kneel before a modelling & film-making deity! Well done Sir: 100/10👍🏻 Astonishing work...I feel privileged to witness it. Thank you for your work...truly spectacular. 😍
Went to a naval history museum recently, and THIS model is better than anything I saw there. Also noted that in the museum the older exhibits are typically more detailed, more precise & better finished than modern ones. Thinking also of the historic times these full size rigs were made and used, the astonishing complexity of rigging - which was organised by men with only muscle power & spoken orders, no cranes, no computers. Plus in this case the other context being movies with big budgets & 1000s of talented crew... But THIS is just one guy!? I'd like to know Tom's daily routine, what he has for breakfast, etc. I need some of that creative genius & relentless perseverance!!
STAY THIS MADNESS! - 👏 bravo Tom but you are Still a mad master of models. Hugs & Kisses to your stop-motion couple. 🥰 PS - literally walking the plank 😂
I took a picture of the kit's instruction and traced the outlines of the Jolly Roger in Adobe Illustrator. Then used Master 3 from ortur to get my masking tape on top of the fabric lasered.
@@TomGrigat Thanks. Ever since I saw 1Man Army masks I was wondering what kind of dark magic needs to be used to make it happen (I don't have laser engraver). It looks easy. Or maybe I just don't understand wham I am looking at ;) I have Silhouette Portrait that I use for making masks for my models and not everything can be cut with it - there is a size limit. I was hoping to overcome that with laser.
there's a limit with a laser too since it melts and burn the tapes structure when the laser must be powered to cut through the mask. It depends. But I like to experiment with different tools though 😅
I understand the need for keeping viewers interested by not having really boring long drawn out building segments, but sometimes the speed it up stuff is not good either like you can't really see what you're doing. I would suggest maybe for me and this is only speaking for myself, I would prefer some more slowed down parts where I could actually see what it is you're doing because some of it goes by so fast, you can't really see what you are doing anyways I appreciate that as someone who has done animation, you are doing amazing work with your videos. Keep it up.
Yes, you describe exactly my problems with the animation. Currently I'm in some sort of orientation how to find a nice way to show my work and how to get the most out of it...

Thanks a lot 😊 and it's an honor to be named with plasmo

@@TomGrigat Id agree- I consider both (Tom & Plasmo) to be the Gold standard in quality of skill and presentation
May I add Ebroin to this list?
@@edmundcaptain608 Thanks. I'm now a subscriber. Elite work for sure.

Think I would go mad trying to do all that rigging!
Just do it. Step after step. For me it's some kind of meditational working
Amazing! Can you share more details about your laser-cut mask?

wow..... where do you learn how to do all that rigging?
First it is shown in the instructions and second I rigged the HMS Terror some times before 😅🙏
