I can't find anything online, so random question. What's the appeal of the dead mount? Isn't it better if the animal is alive looking?
It’s hard to answer. I did these for my client. Some folks like to have a variety of mounts done to remind them different hunting stories.
Perfect job ! 👍
Beautiful ♥️
So I’m doing my first ever goose mount this year u wet the feathers on the breast first to make access easier to make incision
Yes to push the feathers aside so they don’t get into our way of cutting the skin.
Hi, great video! Just wanted to ask, do you paint the feet and inject them with anything please?. If so, what paint and chemical do you use please?
Yes. I do.
I mostly use Hydromist paints with airbrush work and use either master bland or formalin glycerine mix for injection.
Thank you so much! Very kind of you and well done!!.
I noticed on your pheasant video you de-meated the wings by cutting the wings and scrapping the meat out and sewing them back up. Do you do that on all your bird mounts or is that on a mount by mount basis? And where do you get your carving medium for your body and neck forms?
I prefer doing that on all bird however some mounts will be better to invert the wings.. so then we can call it mount by mount... I will post a link on where to buy the materials. thanks.
Do you inject the feet with anything to prevent rot?
Yes I do. know have made a video in that regard too. It will be uploaded soon.
Use what glue to attach the skin to the skull soft glue or hard glue
Super glue. I use gorilla but all of them work
@@ArtofTaxidermy When glued to the skull, is it necessary to dry the bird's skin
@@thanhthuyau6464Probably, because the superglue that I have at least doesn’t bond to anything that is wet. But with certain glues it’s probably fine if you glue the skin to the cast if it is damp
How long and how much do you charge per bird?
All depends.
Could you explain how you wire the tail?
A simple U shape wire with sharpened ends inserted into the body between the tail feathers and under tail coverts. And restrengthen with caulk.
@@ArtofTaxidermy thank you
