It's cute that they think Michael was heartless. I can only imagine how they'll feel about William. Plus, Michael spent his entire life, and even death, trying to stop Williams evil actions, and make up for his actions as a kid.
A heartless person wouldn't have felt bad. A heartless person would t have spent there entire life making up for there one bad actions, which was an accident. A heartless person wouldn't have spent his entire life trying to fix someone else's mistakes and bad deeds. Michael is as far from heartless as you can get.
