By the look of things you did a really good job on the bottle babies. I agree maybe butting the smallest of the baby lamb (21lb) one in with the younger lambs. Keep us posted.

Totally obsessed with the babies bellies when you picked them up.
Also I don’t know why but I love your channel and how you present information. I live in the middle of metropolitan city, farming and animal raising like you do isn’t in my future. But I just love watching. Also your dog is the cutest. Love watching her hop around in the background. Lol

Hayley rose me too! Did you see those two naughty sheep at the end that had managed to get out of the pen and were quite happy munching on something they found and it was just when Sandi said knot on my watch...’ 😂

Love your live streams and videos. I've learned so much. I'm in my early 70's and live now in an apt. That doesn't mean I don't wish to learn more. I had know idea what all you go thru to raise lambs. I find it fascinating. I watch these off grid farmers trying to raise a small flock and see the mistakes they make thinking just because they farm they know what they are doing.Thank you for sharing with us. Learning is knowledge and knowledge is wisdom and it is always with you. Who knows when you may need it. I live in Illinois/Wisconsin border and we are surrounded by farms. Thank you again.

I love your videos Sandi, they remind me of when I was little and we used to stay in a small village in the dales . We were friends with an elderly famed and used to help him out with the living and he always had at least one bottle fed lamb, that I'd feed.

Sandie : just concerned about how you were lifting the bottle babies. As a past weight lifter I was taught to bend the knees to take the pressure off your back. Constant lifting can injure your back. I am not a farmer ( live in downtown Toronto ) but I love your blogs. You explain things very well and provide a lot of background info which I find interesting. Have watched all you vlogs for about a month and always look forward to them.

Somebody asked about age for ewe lambs for breeding. This is how we do it at our place. We change our rams (2) out every two years with another breeder that pure Romney flock. So if we have lambs who all have the same daddy as our current rams. We hold them for 18 months in small group (under 20 ewe lambs). We can tell the year they were born by the color of the button in their ear. (It was association that we use belong too way of keeping track of birth year, we are no longer with this association) This is our year to change of the rams. So we will be going thru the 18 month olds pulling good wool producers, selling off the rest. Come spring shearing, we get the 2 new rams, bevis and butthead go back to their original farm. We get new genetic line (Romney)for fall breeding. Plus this spring lambs we will pull more replacements from. This has worked well for our farm but we are tiny in comparison to Sandi flock.

Thank you! I have been following you since the beginning. I found you from a recommendation from Cody The Cow Vet. You are like crack. I can’t wait to watch the new post and I think I have watched the lambing videos at least 3-4 times. Here is a suggestion from today’s weighing of the bottle babies. Calculate an average of the average daily gain (ADG). Add each lambs ADG and divide by the number of lambs in that group. How does this compare to the ewe raised lambs ADG? Weigh the same number of ewe raised lambs and get their average of the ADG. Compare the two. Calculate the cost of the milk replacer used to grow these bottle babies. Divide the cost of milk replacer by the pounds of gain of the bottle babies. This number would show you how much extra it is costing you to raise a bottle baby.

Lamb tell her she needs to work on her LEG ARMS like her Mama!! LOL.. -that was my 1st video of Mark's, I really enjoyed the simplified breakdown of corn profit.. I Kept thinking, THis would be an AWESOME video of sheep, I imagine IMPOSSIBLE to film but would be cool to watch the herd get smaller and smaller as you think about costs until your left with what might be an estimated profit.

Hey Sandi I think your awesome and I love your videos, I think you’re very educational for a beginner sheep farmer to learn from. I live in Kansas and I just bought 4 bred ewes to start my business and you have taught me a ton! But I have a few questions like, how big are the lambs when you wean them? What do you do when a ewe has a retained placenta? And, how much is your average profit in your business. Once again I think your awesome and it is wonderful that you are doing this (and your the only person I’ve watched for the past two weeks)

Hi Sandi, love your channel. I've been wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages to having sheep with different color wool? I happen to adore the members of your flock that have color variations! When it comes to selling the sheep or their sheared wool does color matter? I saw in your shearing video that the colored wool is separated. Is that because it's good or not as desirable? Best wishes from NY, USA. ;)
