On 07/05/2020 I made my first trip to the world-famous, black-owned Cascade Roller Skating Rink in Atlanta, GA, and let me tell you, the energy was through the roof!! This is just a small sample size of the talent that they have floating around their city. I will be making my return on Labor day weekend, I cant wait!!!

Honestly clubs are dying out. Most go to brewery's or places like this now.
im envious of the skate scene that you have in the US, here in the UK we dont really have it, still this 55 yr old white guy loves watching you enjoying yourselfs.
I thought there were some good skaters on this video. I have traveled across the usa and found skating rinks that have dance skate . Its a common thread and culture. Its more popular now unfortunatly covid has dampend that.
My Dad who was born in 1947 had a roller rink (that's what they called it) in Workington (UK) where he was born and grew up. I went into trick skating, grinding rails jumping stairs. There are some of my favorite clips on my channel (of me doing that). So it's inline and also roller derby. Again we are a skate family cos my sister plays for Royal Windsor Rollergirls. But I would love if they opened more of these places up again! I would go and try learning some of these moves.
I'm nearing 60 and can't wait to get back to this after not skating for 25+ years! Problem is. Here in the USA, there are 2 states that still will not allow indoor roller skating...New York (where I am) and Massachusetts (where they reopened ice skating rinks but not roller skating rinks.
You should find others interested and see if someone will invest in a roller rink. Start one yourself!!
@@davidmoore344, yes but I was told all but 2 states have reopened indoor roller skating rinks... except NY & MA (MA reopened indoor ice skating though -- so unfair).

I’m from Cali but live in Atlanta now. But growing up in Cali we skated all the time at the rink. Rexing competitions all the time in NorCal.

There is so much style and smoothness in this video ! It's been over 20 years since I skated. I went to the local rink in my town today and had so much fun. I was a bit wobbly at first, but after about 30 minutes I started to get my skate legs back ( nothing fancy though LOL ). Definitely want to get my own skates now and learn more :)

I had a delay -- had some surgery and have to wait until it heals more before attempting it! I have not been able to go back to skating yet but I think about it often . I miss that excercise and everything else about it!

Was there a week ago. Whata SHOW! Theres nothin' like skating in the "A." Definitely a separate culture of it's own. 1 part SKATE and 1 part KICKBACK. The lines look like you about to step in the club. Wore my MASK the WHOLE time tho! 🙌🏾
I liked this video before I watched it because I used to skate at Cascade with my brown friends back in the day!! What fun we had back in the 70's and 80's!! (I also skated at Golden Glide and Rainbow).

Yes,you must enter with mask but after many took them off, I wore mine & no social distancing it was too packed. Mostly everyone is open,some places close earlier but overall all nightlife is still open past 4am. Temperatures are taken..I Risked it All🙄👆😳
