Very good review. And thanks for the explanation with the hardening process. Very interesting and well thought out. I would never give up my Winkler knives again. They are made to be used, not a display case queen
That has to be a great knife . My WINKLER belt knife is BLACK , and very sharp, and AWESOME. The 80CRV2 that WINKLER does has some MAGIC to it! The best knife that I have carried since 2013 when I first heard of them! Perfect EDC knife . Very durable I cut a cell phone in half chopped up an old motorcycle battery and used and abused it for years I absolutely love that knife, and I modified the sheath it is really cool, and works great!!!
I love my Winkler blue ridge hunter, one of my favorites blades, so well made and stays Sharp forever if you just strop it every now and again, definitely worth the money. Great video dude
I have the Field Knife. I did not like the ergonomics of the handle. I emailed Winkler Knives and Daniel himself told me to send it to him. He gave me rounder thicker scales and it really changed the feel of the knife, in a good way. But this knife is not for everyone. Not really a woods or bushcraft knife in my opinion. But better for military type use. It is bomb proof! Super strong blade. Top quality.
A wonderful and beautiful knife - Dniel Winkler's knives are excellent and of perfect quality - I am a user and owner of three Winkler knives and I like them very much: they are perfectly usable and very reliable. Nice and interesting movie. Greetings from Poland!
On 2JULY2022 I received my WINKLER UTILITY CRUSHER with sculpted maple handles. This knife is AWESOME the sculpted maple fills your hand, and is the best grip I have tried. I love this knife. I think I like it more than my WINKLER belt knife. It is the 18th , and I am really happy and impressed with this knife. Try a WINKLER you will not be disappointed. The sculpted handles are the best . Have a great day BROTHERS and SISTERS of THE BLADE!!
This is the best comment I've ever received! Thank you very much. I started about two months ago, but I really hope others feel as you feel. Thank you for watching!
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable Thanks! :3 I know You are started two months ago but You record on a global scale, I only record in my own language (not in English). ;D I wish You successes only!!! :DDD Greetings from Poland Bro!!!!! :)))
I had to regrind mine to make it capable of mediocre slicing. The grind was wayy to thick and a bit uneven surprisingly. Luckily I'm an aspiring bladesmith because Winkler ignored my emails as well. Also had problems with the maple handles. They asked for pics and then never responded. I now realize that this is a mediocre knife with simple steel that is easily heat treated in a home forge. The handle is beautiful when done right and the sheath is the best in the industry and a nice traditional blade shape. Otherwise it is very overhyped and extremely overpriced. With a bit of practice anybody can make this knife with some coal and a blow dryer and some steel and files and a drill.
@@Firebrand1967 sorry bud, just saw this. If you like the look and want a sharp prybar I'd say go for it. The sheath is badass. I got the blue ridge hunter, a bit smaller.
I had issues with my sheath on my belt knife, David personally called me we spoke for about 10 minutes. He's sending me a brand new sheath 100% free of charge. Also my belt knife slices receipt paper like fucking butter!! Never really heard anyone say anything really bad about his knives before
@@ryanhawkins715 well for 400 bucks you'd better love it 😀. In all honesty, if I were in an urban environment, had means to sharpen frequently, needed a knife that could pry and go thru the hood of a car, may have to fight and go thru hell and back, I would bring my winkler. If I needed a knife for cutting, It would be my very last choice. Also, I love the look, and the sheath is fantastic. For a collector, I'm glad I have it and actually bought another because the issues I had bothered me so much. I thinned the other out and gave it a satin finish, now its slicey and tough.
Love my field knife. Now they are discontinued, they have sky rocketed in value.

They are NOT safe queens. Glad you enjoyed the video and I will also keep my Winklers for sure

I've heard a lot about the Belt Knife. I think that may be my next fixed blade because I have a General and a Jeager that are awesome.

Thank you for watching. I have my eye on both the Blue Ridge Hunter and the Belt Knife. The way Im liking these, I will probably end up with both!
True. I have different winklers, all are great. But the Blue Ridge Hunter is always with me.

I did like the ergos and I think you are right that its not a woodsman knife. More of a hunting knife IMO
Super nice blade! 👍
Thank you very much, glad you liked it!

I want a sculpted handle Winkler so bad! Soon!
It's the only fixed blade investment you'll ever have to make.
A great knife for sure, a little light for chopping wood
Why do you have so few subs? Your channel is EPIC! ;DDD Greetings!!! ;PP

Never heard anyone with that bad an experience. I am nowhere near experienced to work metal, but as a user my experience has been very positive.
Just Me,
I was contemplating getting this exact knife, yet I'm hesitant now after reading your issues; would you offer more info about the knife?
