1:30:24 Pete says Liam Neeson instead of Leslie Nielsen when talking about the movie Airplane, and now I can’t stop picturing a haggard, gravelly voiced Liam Neeson delivering the line “I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley” 😂
Have you listened to the one where he’s riffin w the guest doing Jeff Bridges impressions? I was dying. I forget the guests’ name but I hope he comes back soon. So silly.
PETE i need you to know i completely agree with your point about voice acting and what it implies about socioeconomic status. a really good example is rosie from the jetsons (a literal robot) who had a "working class" voice because she was a maid (she spoke VERY differently from the rest of the family)
I will say Pete doesn’t butt heads anyone you put him infront if he will force them to fall in love with his charm. That being said this one was special they have comedic chemistry
What a lunatic comic corn maze of literate new age dads meeting their own childhood cartoon nerds who have mastered the art of integrating both resulting in a brilliant, yet exhausting display of genius. Thank God they found each other or none of this would have made sense to me. I had to watch this in segments cause my brain needs rest time trying to keep up with these two brilliant crazy people. Well done boys.
Pete we’ve never met but I had a dream last night we were out to dinner with a bunch of comics and you guys were trying to help me write tags for new bits. You didn’t laugh at my joke about wallets and then I called you “snooty old money” and you looked pretty pissed. Just wanted to say sorry about that in case you had a parallel dream about the same thing.
There should be an improv "primetime" show. So many standups and improv talents are lost in the wind. The fact that Tim Robinson can have a show on Netflix that makes SNL seem obsolete is proof that the world needs this!
Some positive(?) feedback I came for this episode based off that said Instagram reel for Taran's Ghost Maverick. You pulled it off after all, Pete. Way to go.
Throwaway comment by Pete unremarked upon, but I love the description of humans in general as "irrational judgement monsters". That's the way I've felt about most people since I was a small child. And I catch myself doing it to. What do people like more than gossiping behind someone's back, comparing themselves to others, worshipping someone, bullying someone. In short, we suck.
haha henchman obituary was totally the original scene in Austin Powers scene where dude gets run over by the steam roller, originally there was a whole vignette about his home life while he was waiting to get flattened lol
I never wanted to see the henchmen's back story that much. But I do think there should be an action film where the bad guys spend the whole second half of the movie attending funerals for their coworkers that the hero killed in the first half of the movie.
This topic about guns, Hollywood and the actors, has ruffled a lot of feathers when I've discussed it. The knee-jerk comment I get is "It's a film, it's not real!" Duh, I know Sherlock. What I'm on about is that I know at age 64, I've been brainwashed and de-sensitized to gun violence, mayhem, killing, and even blood (thanx Tarantino) by Hollywood as an American my whole life. Where I stand now after 500 REAL school shootings, 20 wars leaving broken and dead people, public murders by guns, people going postal with war guns; is actors make a conscious CHOICE to play a goodie or baddie and shoot, kill, people and be recorded doing it for posterity. I get it ,10 million bucks to do it is a temptation, but it is still a choice to do it....be covered in fake blood and leave 20 people pretend dead. I now find that choice obscene. What I find more obscene is the same actors go on to say things like "mannnn, live in peace, don't accept violence or be kind!" Fuck. I'll admit I enjoyed Clint Eastwoods revenge westerns, war films like Platoon and recently All Quiet..., and ganster movies so I'm still trying to grow out of that. Not all easy to understand the enjoyment of it.
I never knew how much I loved Taran. That being said, it saddens me that his favorite doc is king of kong. Billy Mitchell is pathetic, and does NOT deserve any kind of reverence. I literally just finished watching a video by summoning salt about abnie's dominance in mario kart 64, and every single person who tried to dethrone him(kudos to kazuya btw). Every single contender in that speedrun is 1000 times the human being that mitchell is, and it sucks that genx seems to have given that garbage person a pass.
For years, I had so much respect for Pete Holmes, but I literally just heard him say that he loves the Hobbit movies. That's it for me, I'm done, I'm out.

I can't stop thinking about this!
@@tinman652hahaha same 😅
"oim serious... "
Awww I just watched Pete make a new friend. 💑
Taran needs to be a recurring guest if you'll dont just start a show together. ⚡ in a 🍼.
He kinda is. Check out some of the old podcasts of Pete holmes’.
I think Taran is MY best friend now.
(The TMNT movie impressions were insane)
Only Pete can properly express how much we love Taran's impressions
I did not expect this to just start out with nerding out over comic book characters and movies and I am the most here for it I have ever been.
Not even 10 minutes in, and a Great appreciation of Ang Lee's Hulk? Best episode
I've listened to Pete for years....this is probably my favorite interview ever.
Have you listened to the one where he’s riffin w the guest doing Jeff Bridges impressions? I was dying. I forget the guests’ name but I hope he comes back soon. So silly.
Josh Ruben! You must watch. I found it. Coincidentally references Terminator and death.

I liked him on SNL, never really saw him in other stuff.
I will say Pete doesn’t butt heads anyone you put him infront if he will force them to fall in love with his charm. That being said this one was special they have comedic chemistry
32:00 As a father of 3 year old twin boys who literally watch Spidey Friends every morning this conversation was spot on and an absolute gem.
Wow I could've listened to this episode for another 3 hours! Great duo and great episode!!

Always just loved Taran on SNL... What a fantastic actor!

Pete Holmes talking about "Im a Raphael, Leo aspiring" Like some people talk about astrology.
I love Any Lee's "Hulk". It was beautifully shot, in my opinion.
🤣🤣🤣JW in Paris (?)-fighting in the round-a-bout ….🤣🤣🤣all I could think of was: Froger with guns! Lol🤦🏽♀️
best nerdin' out podcast since nerdist > pete & taran should do it weekly
16:31 Is Pete looking for the word “hygge”?
Omg Taran opens with a never ending story reference. I love it.
Taran's TMNT voices are AMAAAAAZING!!
I could watch these guys hang on the daily
Holy shit I would LOVE if Pete, Taran, and Jay Pharaoh got together for a podcast to talk impressions
Pete Holmes is a great pairing with any nerd
Some positive(?) feedback I came for this episode based off that said Instagram reel for Taran's Ghost Maverick. You pulled it off after all, Pete. Way to go.
You guys are so fun to watch.

Mick Jagger sounds like a sonic wizard of sort, in both of those stories.
“Who’s on the piano? Rowlf? 😂

Great episode!

Scratch that, reverse it, TARAN!! Pulling out some awesome Gene Wilder Wonka quotes!!
Incredible ep!
Taran Killam looks like Bert Kreischer if Bert never did drugs or alcohol.
Haha, spot on 😂
Came to say that "If he'd actually taken a Spanish class instead of Russian". Yours was better! Well played.
And was a better comedian.
46:08 - fucking nailed a Minecraft villager.
This episode was so good. Please do a podcast together
Pete you will love The Bear I promise! Especially season 2
From what I know, Pete is a Office guy, Succession & White Lotus. Marvelous Mrs. Mazel,
Only Murders in the Building.
Henchman Obit was kiiiinda done in Austin Powers
I never wanted to see the henchmen's back story that much. But I do think there should be an action film where the bad guys spend the whole second half of the movie attending funerals for their coworkers that the hero killed in the first half of the movie.
Pete Holmes kicking other people's feet is hilarious to be 😂
4:23 get into it
Killing it with the Turtles impressions
WE ARE ALL THE SAME!! Good god Petey Homes ! I’ve done all these things. I’m a Donatello :)
The word he is looking for is Hyge (means that feeling of nice calm comfort like having a warm cup of tea in a nice room in the winter)
Hygge
I want my last words to be "like this!"
Loved this episode and love the show. Would love to see more non-male guests, too! :)
Listening to this episode feels like Gary Blauman just offered me his bonus curly fry.
Jordan Cahill! give me your love, I'll give u my heart!
is that a Paul Pope print hanging behind Pete??
Also, my buddy and I were literally talking about Switch's death in this exact same way just last night.
That Benicio was 10/10 tho
The Norwegian word you were looking for is "Koselig"
Isn't that just "cozy"?
@@Helicees You're right. Maybe it's "Hygge" or "Hyggelig" that is the trigger word. It basically means the same.
@@sorbys86 yeah that sounds more appropriate
What if spiderman was from Boston or are there any heroes from Boston at all
Sam Adams beer guy at Fenway Park?

The Maverick riff was intelligent
Taran's Maverick is definitely inspired by HIMYM
Dreamboat.
Fave episode (that’s not Val, obvs).
Did taran not play an assassin with lots of kills in Gunther?
here for pete's muffin top.
What did Bill call Mark? C word?
Consider me already subscribed to samsies
I'm only a quarter of the way in and Taran didn't finish the mark ruffalo story from the beginning. So loose end
Edit: Whoo, circled around. Well done

Why so violent? Couldn't he just call himself Taran Huggam instead? Also, I loved his role as the Glee professor in Community.
I thought Pete wanted to be killed by archer.

Taran Killam is this generation's Bert Kreischer only funnier.
For years, I had so much respect for Pete Holmes, but I literally just heard him say that he loves the Hobbit movies. That's it for me, I'm done, I'm out.
UMMMM...Killing Gunther II: The Quest for Peace????????????????
Jum nums
Do they not understand that most of the reason people are pro-gun, is to prevent senseless gun violence?
What is the other F word?!
Ya!?! That's the only reason I'm in the comments
Primero!
Nice job man, hahaha, so great! First! Nice!
