I prefer the open bottom. When apple was still making leather cases, they were open. I have an Andar that is not open and I don’t like it as much. Think I’m going to give one of these a try.
I'm with you on the open bottom, the older silicone spigen slim fit cases were my first intro to open bottom cases and it's so much easier to swipe up.
@@Paa375For me it’s more comfortable when holding the phone with my baby finger underneath it. I’ve tried cases both ways and the open bottoms are always more comfortable to me.
I love my Bourbon case. I also have the Ciena contemporary case that is just as premium. The leather on these cases have a more premium feel than the Andar. I also love the open bottom for scrolling and swiping.
I’ve had BullStrap cases on two previous iPhones including that Burgundy case. As the case Patinas it will get darker like a very dark brown losing most of the reddish burgundy hues. Drop protection is actually good despite the open bottom, but definitely use with a good screen protector for even more shock absorption.
I actually returned the case and ended up going with Ryan London as the leather option (still magbak most weekdays though). Slate is a good color, nice choice man!
Totally understand there, but I will say after using an open bottom for a while the ease of swiping up is something to consider... I've moved to the open bottom Ryan London case most all the time and it's a sweet spot IMHO.

Curious why do you prefer the open bottom?

Agreed on the opening, that's my favorite part of the Ryan London which I am running now. Will check out the Ciena too

Awesome to know the red goes away, that a huge win in my opinion!
You should do a follow up video about this case. I just ordered the slate color.

@@themanreviewwas it the color of the bourbon that made you return it?
The open bottom is a deal breaker for me. I'd rather have a case that protects my investment.

Doesn’t look like the right color.
I thought the same thing, looked burgundy to me so I ended up returning this case
